Heat fans boo Porter -- are they right?

Just did a segment on the Jorge Sedano Show here on South Florida's radio waves and he tells me that Joey Porter was at the Heat game Thursday night, ostensibly to watch the Dwyane Wade and LeBron James matchup.
Well, all the good will Porter built during last season's 17 1/2 sack season has apparently faded already this year. That comes from judging the reaction of Heat fans when the big screen on the scoreboard showed Porter in the crowd as one of the celebrities in attendance.
The fans, Sedano said, booed Porter.
So is that a reaction that you would share?
Porter is having a terrible season. He has not had a full sack since September. Last week, in a big stage moment, Porter didn't even play a featured role against the New England Patriots, failing to make a sack or even a tackle in the game.
And he has been avoiding the South Florida media much of the week while big-timing it on NFL Network.
But does he deserve being booed?

I've never seen one player disappear like Porter does in meaningful games.
 
I don't think that was right at all. I remember reading this article this morning & all I could really do was shake my head. I really hope that Porter turns it around this second half of the season. We REALLY need his help getting pressure on the QB. The lack of pass rush is killing us this year.
 
I didn't hear him getting booed when they showed him on tv. Maybe it was at another time or I just didn't notice.

yeah I also heard from 2 different people that were at the game that said when they showed him on the jumbo tron that there werent any boos at all...I bet this tool heard a couple a drunk guys booing and decides to make up a story about it

Absolutely, he deserves it. Never in my life have I seen a player talk so much crap and do virtually nothing to back it up. I hope this is Porter's last season in Miami. I never wanted that j@ck@ss in the first place. Again, thanks Cam.
 
I bet he wished he was invisible. All he needed to do was put on some pads and a helmet
 
As if any real heat fans were at the game. More empty seats than dolphin games. mv3 baby. anyone see wades dunk? I'm sure you have.

Also I think Wade would make an ideal receiver here!! 6'4 220, great hands and a speed demon.
 
Week in and week out teams have his quotes posted in their locker room for motivation. I hate that. Its something that you would expect from a Jest player. I just wish players would let their play do all the talking instead of constantly spewing diarrhea out of their mouth.

I can't say that anyone deserves to get boo's but just STFU Joey and play ball.
 
If they are booing because of the fact he talks too much crap and doesn't back it up...I understand. If they are booing because he is playing like crap, then we need to look at the coaches who are still putting him out there.

Question: I know of I have booed when a crappy player like a QB was put on the field, but who are you really booing? Him, or the coaches that are putting him out there? I would say we are really booing the coaches for putting him out there...just a thought.
 
the heat fans should be boed because the heat will likely lose Wade to cleveland that downward spiral in miami sports will make all three sports teams in miami the hell hole of sports due to the lack of star power

dolphins have Ronnie and Ricky and thats it .
marlins have nobody and no fans
Heat has only one good player and that is Wade

this is the least championship caliber city in all of sports due to lack of star power.
 
True Acefin, and some how we remain competitive in all leagues. We saw what happens with the Heat and Marlins when star power is around, ALA shaq and wade championship 05-06.... Marlins 2 World series titles 97, 03

Dolphins need another superstar and so do the other teams. They will come. Wade isnt going anywhere.. the team is already over achieving and if anything Lebron is coming to Miami before Wade goes to that hellhole. Wade goes to CHI town if anything and they are losing worse this year.

Right, because everyone wants to freeze their balls off and play in a tiny market like Cleveland.

Anyway, unfortunately the Heat honored him and the rest of the Dolphins defense by having an invisible defense of their own.
