Is it me or does it seem that many teams are working hard to improve their lines on both sides of the ball. DT's are signing and being traded everywhere. The latest I saw, via espn, is that Buffalo just got Stroud from the Jags. We signed three linemen all together. Perhaps teams are waking to the fact that it all starts at the ball.

Definitely...the Super Bowl proved that championships are won in the trenches...both sides

Speaking of which...what are the Patriots doing to not lose any of their O-line??

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that it all starts up front. the oline protects the quarterback and opens holes for running backs, and a dline that can get good penetration makes it easier for the entire defense.

thats where the game is won and lost, between the tackles. Just look at the Super Bowl. The Giants D-Line destroyed the Pats O-Line and the Giants O-Line also outmatched the Pats D-Line resulting in the Super Bowl going to the Giants instead of the "undefeated" Patriots. (haha undefeated haha yeh that happened). So why not put your money on what will eventually win you games. Wideouts, Quarterbacks, and Runningbacks are just products of their O-Line. Also with the great dominating D-Line that can cause constant pressure will make a poor secondary look like an all-pro secondary. Less time a QB has to throw the more mistakes they will make. Also if all the holes are clogged there's no where for a Runningback to run. Its simple economics win and lose through your lines, instead of wasting and holding your breath on specialty players. If your lines are good your team is good. Simple.

shouldnt' have taken the SB for ppl to realize that. its beeen that way for DECADES

No doubt, but the nfl has been on a mission to ruin the most popular sport by eliminating its physicality year after year. The Giants proved that if you choose to throw that many times you will get hit(that's if your name isn't Marino :D).

This is why I have found it ludicrous when other Dolphins fans have blamed our QBs. It is true that we have not had a good one since Dan the man, but the offensive line has been our continuing problem on offense. It is nice to see a front office and a coaching staff that understand how to build a team. Lines first always!!!!

Jake Long

No other choice comes close to what he can bring to this team.. He instantly improves 2 positions drastically by being picked.. By having him at LT and moving Carey back to RT.. Two future pro bowlers there if Miami makes the right move in drafting the stud.

An finally.. FINALLY we can have an offensive line to be proud of.!

I agree...but would say 4 positions. This move would also improve Beck and Brown

Yup. It improves all 11 positions for the offense.. Receivers, tight ends have more time to get open, more holes for everyone.. More time for the defense to rest because we have more sustained drives. So it helps the D as well as they will have more rest not having to deal with a 3 and out popgun offense on their team.

I'm sure Ginn would love the move since he'll have the necessary time to blow by the secondary for long bombs.

It's a Win-Win-Win situation

Watching Ginn run short 5 yard routes last year was sickening.. It does not maximize his talent level..

We need the deep ball threat back.. We haven't had it since Richmond Webb retired.. That is no coincidence.

Having the ability to put points on the board increases our ability to have leads.. Which makes our defense's job alot easier.. They know other teams will not run and we can pin our ears back.. Thanks to our offense and the much improved offensive line.

DRAFT JAKE LONG Billy !
