That seems to be the only person we could hire that everyone here would finally stop complaining about and that's not happeneing so everyone just needs to take a deep breath and relax for a minute.

Just a minute?

Nah wouldn't want someone as classy as Shula working for a POS like Ireland

He's too old = a negative

Let Don enjoy retirement. Don't bring him back into this mess.

In a heartbeat.

I don't care how old he is.

(seriously doubt he'd be interested in coaching anymore, though. After all, I presume there's a reason he's stayed out of the game)

Shula cannot handle the day to day mess that is this franchise. The best we could hope for is that he would be a figure head.
If you want someone similar to Shula, give Marty Schottenheimer a call. He is the best coach available IMHO.
Of course, we won't call him.
He is 68 and is better shape(and health) than Rex Ryan.

He won't have a ****ing heartbeat if he tried coaching again

I flat out do not understand why they won't even give Marty a ring considering that he's had a good relationship with Carl Peterson who by all accounts thinks well of him.

Sure, your ideal candidate is a young guy, but I think this franchise could use a steady, veteran hand right now.
