Jet fan here, now before you all get all up at arms... I come in peace;)
I've been lurking here for years and there are some quality posters here who know their football (those I respect) and there are a bunch of ninkampoops who don't know **** from shinola. But I guess that's true for every team. I will be coming by from time to time to get your feedback on some players and to get your opinion on our common division rivals.

Welcome. I hope you guys put Brady on his *** all game. I actually do see you the Jets disrupting the Pats passing game with a pretty creative blitz scheme.

Welcome,
as you probably know us dolphin fans cant even get along with each other so dont be shocked if they jump through your screen 1st chance they get.
Its like when the preseason starts you cant wait to start beatin up on someone else

Thanks! I think we have a very good chance of winning this game, Brady is just a statue back there, he hid behind his OL and Buffalo kept bringing 4 every time, only blitzing once... I'm not a genius coach like Belichick:rolleyes2: but simple math tells me that 5 plus a back and a FB will almost always block 4... I think Rex is really going to challenge Brady in this game, he will have to move or he will get clobbered. They can counter by spreading us, but we will get to him regardless.

On defense the Pats have never been weaker since BB got there, and losing Seymour and now Mayo will hurt them bigtime, Buffalo's line composed of three rookies was pushing them around all game, if they stack the box to contain our running game, Sanchez will gash them with the pass like he did Houston, NE has to find a way to rattle Mark, but Mark is a jack rabbit out there buying time in the pocket and hitting receivers on the run with ease, it won't help thatCB Wheatley is banged up.

If it wasn't for the psychological edge, I'd give a big edge to the Jets, but the Pats hate our guts with a passion and now big mouth Kerry is talking trash, I hope he will back it up because he hasn't done jack since 07, all he does now is talk about how pretty he is... Rex gets a bad rep for talking, but if you stop and analize it, he hasn't put anyone down, Kerry on the other hand is an idiot and this coming from a diehard Jet fan.

Tooting my horn here...LOL (plus observations on both teams)

The Jets have never had as much talent on defense as they do now. Kris Jenkins is a force of nature guys, put your bias aside and look at it purely as a football fan, this guy is monstrous... Harris and Scott (ILB's) are playing possesed. Revis right now is only behind Asomogha in my book as the best corner in the league, he made Andre Johnson look like a chump all game. Rhodes is an above average to big play SS whenever he decides to shut his trap and play. Lito is not very disciplined but he has a nose for the ball and with the way the Jets put pressure he should be in on a lot of balls this year. Ellis, Pace and Thomas are underrated in my opinion and can bring heat on the outside, last but not least Gholston is much better with his hand down as a DE and that's where Rex is playing him, he's looking like a different player already and it won't be long before he starts stringing sacks together, Westerman, Murrell, Trusnik can also bring heat whenever called upon. On paper this is a formidable group, and Rex has them out for blood.

What Miami can do to counter our strengths (anticipating our monday night game here) is to run the ball early and often to set up play action, the wild cat is not fooling anyone and Chad needs to work off a running game. Set up the run first and then use play action/WC/trickeration... not the other way around. That is the only way I can see Miami being succesful against this Jets defense quite honestly, Chad cannot keep checking down or going short against the Jets... run Ricky run or it will get ugly. Miami needs a number one WR in a bad, bad way, they scare no one and teams already have the blueprint on how to stop the WC... Henning has to come up with something else, but Henning is a terrific OC, trust me I know, we had him.

On defense I really like Miami's ends and OLB's; Merling, Langford, Taylor, Porter... They are outstanding and can make it pretty miserable for anyone, not to mention a rookie as precocious as Sanchez. But their interior is weak in my opinion, I think the Jets can run very succesfully against that interior defense. I also don't think much of your secondary, Shaun Smith is lethal in the redzone, but he can be exposed from the 20 to the 20... Will Allen is solid but not spectacular and your safeties can tackle but can't cover no one.

Heheh! It's all good brother, only football and all fans are the same.;)

It really hurt to see Chad go, I always respected his game and the kid is a class act. The only saving grace about the Fins beating us that last game was seeing Chad stick it to those ungrateful Jet fans, who never appreciated the sacrifices he made to get us in the playoffs 3 out of 4 years he was healthy and kicking the Pats out of the playoffs... that was sweet. I was kinda rooting for Miami against us that game (first time I ever did that)

I will always hold Chad in very high regard, that said, I think I understand Chad's game probably better than anyone here having analized every game he ever played for us, there are pros and there are cons, but you will be surprised that I don't hold the arm as much against him as some, eventhough it is weak by most standards. I think Chad is too much of a perfectionist and when he is thrown off his rythm he loses it, it's not even about mental fortitude, it's about him being too analytical and anal about everything and then he beats himself up too much, he's way too classy sometimes. Also he is extremely cautious to the point where it becomes a detriment at times.

The good outweighs the bad though guys, he's the type of QB you have to protect and you must... must enhance by putting capable weapons around him, he needs to have receivers better than Ginn and Bess (that's a joke now guys) Chad has never had the luxury of a TO or a Harrison, no Moss or 85 to be his escape valve.

The best he had in NY was Cotch and Coles and even Coles started slowing down and getting nicked up. He needs a couple of capable tall fast WR's, I cannot believe Miami went with the WV kid, I was rolling on the floor laughing my *** off. No, Miami needs to give Chad some weapons, he needs a TE who can really stretch the seam, he needs size more than anything, Ronnie/Ricky and Cobbs are a terrific trio, but he needs WR's more than anything. Nothing against Bess who I think is a nifty little guy... but you know what I mean. You get him help and build up your defense more (you guys need some DT/NT help and some safeties) and Miami should contend even with Chad. I think he's better than Henne, weak arm and all.

Don't like Vontae Davis... that kid's a knucklehead, Smith is an exciting prospect though. He reminds me a bit of Marcus Coleman when we had him in NY, very athletic and lethal in close quarters, he will shut down most tall receivers in the redzone... I don't like him on an island against a jittterbug like Steve Smith though, he's still raw and will get beat deep, I would roll a safety to help him out while he acclimates himself. Davis I would move to SS in a heartbeat, he reminds me of Justin Miller... almost the same animal, can hit a ton but is dumb as ****. Good to know that you guys didn't land Madison and Surtain... And please don't try to convince me that you did...LOL!

thats mostly all pretty fair.
I can name a few corners I still put ahead of Revis but not by much.
I think you are underestimating our front 7 and how stout vs the run we can be. Turner got nothing all game, If Fergy is healthy its lovely Soaili is starting to get his head on straight and playing with a lot of attitude Crowder and Akin get to play to their strength. You summed up our secondary pretty well though.

Thomas Jones and Leon Washington are a good 1-2 punch, Jericho Crotch is solid and your TE is going to be a problem for the next few years. If Sanchez gets to throw to open WR's like he did vs Houston he will be fine but I think things will change.

Ricky and Ronnie are our key to winning games bottom line.
The wildcat is pretty much no longer in my mind, Its Pat White comming in and playing in pro style formations but with a lot of movements and options im not sold on how well this will work, but it has tons of potental shown by the few plays he has last week. I expect 2 very good games out of our teams this year. Heres to hoping we stay healthy and you guys dont :chuckle:

Fergie has always been super solid, but I think it's time Miami starts looking for a replacement, I liked what I saw of Soliai in the preseason. I like Ayodele a lot better than Crowder btw... That kid Crowder has to be one of the dumbest people on the planet:crazy:... LOL! I hate trash talkers... We have Kerry Rhodes right now and I can't stand him. Play the fcking game and shut your trap.

Your analyis of the Fins vs Jets seems valid (if you are a Jets fan) except for the part about the Fins defense. Ferg and Solai are very good. Atl did nothing up the middle. Turner was stuffed. Our seconday can handle your "star" players like Stucky.
Really, I think our group of recievers are better than your teams guys. I dont think there is an arguement there. You do have Revis, who is probably better than Allen.
Defensively we will shut down the jets run game and put Sanchez in obvious passing situations. Offensively, we will move the ball the way we do...Ronnie, Ricky and Cobbs.
Penny will make the short throws to keep the drives going. If we dont turn the ball over, we will win the game.
Regarding the NE/NYJ game...I hope you guys beat the chicken salad out of each other.
I would be nice to see Rex catch a Brady pass in his mouth.

Welcome here, quality posts. I hope both you and the Pats beat each other senseless in a multiple overtime tie, with neither team being able to fully recover until the off season...hehe Just kidding. I really want to see Brady on his butt multiple times and have their butts handed to them, like we did last year in the 3rd game!
