You Know I wish people would really get off culpepper. If any one really looked at stats he had a decent game. But as far as our offensive line I really don't Know what to say but, they suck. come on pressured as bad as he was and sacked seven times hell he was just trying to get the hell out of the way to get a little breathing room. BLAME THE DAMN OFFENSIVE LINE, HOW MUCH WORSE CAN THEY GET THEY SUCKED LAST WEEK TO!!!!!!!!!!

What !!!!

How can the stats lie so some of the play calling was bad there is no getting around that the offensive line is not gettting done for us. In my oppinion it does not really matter who was in there there was no protection..

there is a vast over reaction to culpepper going on. but with that said there is no getting around the fact that he played a pretty poor game today. That also does not mean that the book is closed on pep or that he has been exposed as a fraud or that he lacks the mental make up to read defenses.
as i saw the game today the order goes : 1. Pep 1a. Mularkey 2. O line 3. Saban (this team was listless and appeared to be unprepared).

You know I have been a dolphin fan since 1983, thru some of the great seasons and some of the not so great. I am a Nick Saban fan love what he has done and drafted but, he really needs to shake up that offeneive line up, or find some more help.

The line was awful in the first quarter or so, but after that Daunte was holding the ball WAAAYYYYY too long. As bad as our offenive line is, no line can hold off a defense for 7 seconds. He needs to learn to throw the damn ball away, especially since he can't run any better than Marino right now.

holy crap was anyone watching the game? the oline game peppersnots plenty of time to throw the damn ball! wow u guys really need to watch some football....

I think this is a good example of how stats really arent everything. Sure a qb can have a high completion percentage, but when your constantly going to your check-off recievers for 3 yards that will happen.
I do agree with you that the line needs to improve, but I cant see how you can completely defend culpepper here. I think that after he threw the INT culpepper seemed to freeze up a bit in the pocket for the rest of the game. A lot of those sacks later in the contest were more culpeppers fault because he stood there for so long and didnt get rid of the ball. It seemed that his confidence was down and he was afraid to get rid of it. Part of what makes a good qb (marino was the perfect example) is to be able to make your reads quickly and get rid of the ball. Yes the line isnt getting great protection, and on times where defenders are in right away you can blame them, but its also up to the qb to adjust at times and make his reads faster. Culpepper didnt do that today IMO.

Alright !!

BillK78 Iwill give that won its just frustrating he's rusty and you have people who can not be patient he will come out of it before it is to late. But the o-line really has no excuse.

Horrible post. Steve McNAir had even more constant pressure on him today who was able to keep the chains moving and resting his good defense by avoiding key 3 and outs. I was watching both games on two TV's at the same time. And the difference in the two QB's was striking to say the least.. McNair is efficient, Pep is a dummy and not very eficient whatsoever. Culpepper had horrid mechanics. McNair was terrific with unbelieveable pressure on him .. Pep is definitely not ready and should be sat down until he is 100% healthy..

With that said, Eli Manning was sacked 11 times today. But he didn't let that get to him and he brought his team back from being down 24-7 in the 2nd half to win in OT . Now that's a real QB and a leader.

Although I think there is a little over-reaction to Cpep's abismal start, I have to agree with some of the people.
He is taking too long to get to his checkdowns.
He doesn't "look off" his primary reciever
He is having a rough time seeing the field.
and finally, he is not getting rid of the ball soon enough.

Daunte, your legs are not what they used to be. If you get persuit, throw it away immediately.

2 fumbles the first drive, Back to Back. Int in the red zone. Personally I lost count of the times he was sacked at 6.

No QB can take the what 7 sacks we gave up and have a good game, almost impossible. We don't have a dominate O-line, Houck can't work miracles like some people believe he can. Shelton is ok, not great, Jeno James is the same. Hadnot should be at RG but he has to play center because we have no one who can play that position as of right now. Bennie Anderson shouldn't be starting. Vernon Carey should have never played RT, he could a great guard, just an average RT.

Our secondary is awful, the Safties Tillman, Bell, Hill are all average backups but are not good starters. It doesn't help that J. Allen isn't ready to contribute. At CB: even if Daniels comes back he's a very solid #2 CB, great #3 CB but he's not going solve all of our problems.

Our biggest problems this year wil be our O-line and secondary.

Then maybe he shouldn't have walked into 4-5 of them, huh?
