As former owner of this site I watched the donation bar that used to be at the top not move. I can tell you that the site costs a great deal to run and that the volume of visitors that make this "THE" fan site consumes massive amounts of server load and bandwidth. SO...it isn't free entertainment. It costs, and costs a lot. And don't think the ads cover it. They don't. The ads did not generate enough to cover half the costs with keeping the site up. This is your site. You come here and have been doing it for years. A small donation (large is even better) of $3 or $5 bucks a year is worth keeping this place alive and thriving. Most of us spend that on a music download, mobile apps, internet porn (you know who you are), etc. You can cough it up for your Dolphin site. I have nothing to gain from making this pitch but to tell you I know first hand the burden as I went out of pocket many times to just keep this place on the air. So now I am a fan and a member just like you and I know when I come here and enjoy it, it is because the awesome staff like Wildbill keep it going, and member Henrik pays the bills.

So seriously, its not BS, its not a scam, its not free. Donate today or become a VIP by donating $20 and get and ad free experience and other perks.

Thanks

Matt

This thread was started with the best of intentions, and most of the responses may have been written with the best of intentions, but because it deteriorated into a drivel worthy of the depths, that's where you'll find them. *(unless we change our mind and remove them completely)* Now, if you look at the donation bar, it dropped from 1000 to 350. Why? Because that's about the amount we have to make up per month in hosting costs. Here's the math, we average about 150-200 VIP members a year, at 20 per member. (There is also a Super Donator subscription which is 50 a year, and it allows access to a private forum that is open to staff and guests only.)

The VIP subscription does not cover our hosting costs. So that leaves injected Ad hosting. Guess what, if you don't click them, we don't make a lot of money off of that. And let's be honest, most of you are running ad blockers, so that means Finheaven operates with a loss every month. EVERY MONTH. That's the reality. 350 a month is what I figure our loss to be so that's why our donation bar is now set to 350 per month. It'll reset every 1st of the month.

I'm going to open this thread back up, and I'll monitor it for valid critiques. Those I will answer to the best of my ability, and if I cannot answer them then I'll ask Henrik and give you his answer.

What is the tier for donations? 10, 20, 50. What do you get for donating more? Just curious.
