Help me get this right.... Dolphins are a scrap team???

Last year with a very mediocre coaching staff, with a Qb, who had not taken any snaps with the first team up until the moment Henne went down, with a very vanilla Def. scheme, with NOOOOO RT whatsoever, playing only for fieldgoals and trying not to lose we were in most of the games, 14 I think.
Then there comes Philbin, putting all his mind, work and time to refurbish this team...
take into account what we have so far...

A very solid Defense that will only get better.
a very solid addition in marshall as DB
a good LB in Jamaal Westerman (say what you want, he is better than Misi)
Plus draft..

On Offense
Marshall is Gone (7 Tds dropped last season, and 6 Tds in 2011) hmmmm
The OL will only get better even if we put NO RT (Columbo was horrible) so anybody will be an upgrade..
Bush was underutilized,
Clay was only used 10 plays a game or so ..... to block???? WTF (he can be a very special player on Offense)
Moore did a pretty good job last year and with OTAs and TC He will only get better

So my question is HOW are we a scrap team??, the way a lot of people from this forum make believe. We are not contenders yet, but I think if Philbin believes in Flynn and a very solid draft, we could end up being a very competitive team...

Any comments?????
 
Agreed.  We will certainly be competitive.  Competitive gets you anywhere from 6-10 to 11-5 and in the playoffs, depending on your schedule and luck.  

But we need to be more than competitive and won't be until we get a QB with elite potential AND a coaching staff that can maximize and develop that potential.  I believe we have the latter...just need the guy.
 
No one sees anything positive but the fact we traded Marshall and lost out on peyton which means we are destined losers...I think we can win 10-12 games with even Matt Moore and a full off season.just add a receiver and lock down Anderson.winnin record..look at those games we lost last year in the last 5 min..ee can't be that much worse.
 
i don't think we're a scrap team at all. some people in the local and national media seem to have it out for us, and uneducated finheaven posters love to crap on anything and everything the team does or doesn't do.
 
Right now we're a below average team. We can beat up on some worse teams sometimes, but we often fail to beat the exceptional teams, the teams that make the playoffs while we sit and watch. I suppose you can call us scrap-py.

we were very crappy, coaches didn't plan for the whole game, it seemed like, but the potential is huge.. But i don't see us being vanilla this year!!!

imo we need to stick with matt moore now since we didnt get anybody or just sit on our asses and let all the good players go to other teams just like we have been doin ever since ross bought this team and ireland has been GM , so i say just stick with matt moore because we arent going anywhere and will be lucky to win 3-4 games this year , let the stadiums stay empty and just stick with moore .
 
because we were 7,9, 7,9, 6-10 that solid defense got gutted weekly by TEs and never made a stop in the clutch!(see Tebow and Eli game tape). Bush had a break out year but that was with Marshall taking up a double and sometimes triple team. We might have a new hc(unproven) but it is the same schmuck at the top.
 
Accentuate the positive. There are plenty of counter points to make, but why bring you down. You are one optimistic dude.

We are better than that, we'll manage to be way over 500.. This team will be very competitve, believe it or not.. Who did you want??? Manning?? see what the broncos will be with Manning, You wanted Mario Williams??? LMAO then we should have gotten rid of Bell, Soliai, Marshall DB and Bush just to pay Mario.

We are already solid on Defense, we need Offense and this draft could be good..
