Why is it we're not seeking a GM first, and allowing him to hire the coach? Wouldn't it be easier to lure a Pioli, a Modrak, away by offering him control of the franchise, then trying to find a personnel guy later who will be subordinate to the head coach?

I'm not sure how all of this is going to unfold. It appears that things with Mueller may not be working out, and nobody knows if he's still staying right now. Wayne should certainly be searching high / low right now for a new GM if Mueller indeed is leaving us....

I highly doubt we'd be able to lure Pioli away from New England. I also here that F. Reese wants the Giants gig. I'm not sure where that leaves us in terms of options, but it's not a good sign considering Mueller may be on the out....

Maybe we are................

At Waynes Press conference after the saban debacle, he clearly said "We have a process in place for this sort of thing." The same people that have hired JJ, Wanny, and Saban are all still within the organization. Wayne works with several of his right hand guys and figures out who should be the next coach. Also, lets not rule out that Wayne might give our new head coach GM responisbilities. (i dont like it either, but it could happen)

From what I hear Mueller may not be here much longer....
No he probably wont. which leads me even further to believe Wayne might offer the GM responsibility to whatever coach he hires...

I dont know, but that's what's been happening with all of my favorite teams lately.....Flyers, Sixers and Phillies. I think it's because you've really got to act fast to determine who is the best coaching candidate for your team and hire him. Otherwise that coach will end up off the market in some way shape or form, whether he stays with his current team, goes to another team or goes to college or something. The GM's tend to be around......

At this stage, I'm not sure we'll find anyone qualified for both....

I know. Which is why im scared...Id love Cameron as the new HC but if someone like him were to take the GM part of the job too, its gonna be a disaster. If wayne gives the new coach the 'keys to the kingdom' so to speak, and that coach isnt qualified (Wanny comes to mind) its gonna be very very bad.

If Mueller is out of the picture, we need to know now. If that's the case, Wayne needs to go and hire Floyd Reese asap. He's the best available GM on the market outside of Mueller in my opinion, and he wont be on the market very long either. We need to know what Mueller's plans are, and fast!!....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

They better not give the next head coach total control. It hasn't worked in Miami and its time to get a real GM in here that knows personnel.
