I have a dillema. I just read the Dolphins will be playing at Pittsburgh on the opening night game. My wife and I are going to Rome for our 10 year anniversary and were planning on returning home Saturday the 9th of September so we could watch the first Phins game. Anyway, chances of changing the date of that trip are slim. I actually had 2nd row tickets for the Dolphins at Pittsburgh game already lined up through a friend with Steelers season tickets.

Here is my question:

In the worst case scenerio where my wife won't give in and shorten our trip, is it possible to watch the NFL while I am in Rome? The game won't start there until like 2 in the morning.

If anyone has any knowledge, or lives over there, please let me know.

Thanks

I love the Dolphins dearly too, but come on. Its your 10th anniversary? Some things are more important than football, really.

Ha. If I don't use them, then my friend will just let his parents use them. It was just a special offer for me to go. I actually went with the same tickets last preseason.

I didn't say it was more important. My wife is a huge fan too, so we just are looking at a way to watch the game while we are there. We went to the Dolphins home opener in '96 as a first leg of our honeymoon, so she is always cool with it.

it would be a 6 hour drive for me to go anyway. if i really want to see a phins game i should go to the jets game at the meadowlands since that's only 2 hrs away. still, those damn things are expensive!

There are sports bars in Rome that'll show it. You can't shorten a trip to Rome. Greatest city on earth.

"Ned Kelly (tel 06 683 22 20, Via delle Coppelle 13), around the corner from the Pantheon, is an Australian-style bar serving Foster's Lager and other brews. There are TV screens with satellite coverage of US sports events"

"Rome: Trilussa Palace Hotel: The staff were tremendous, anticipated our needs and accomodated us with special requests (we wanted to watch the NFL playoffs at 2am, they arranged to have the tv in the bar carry the game for us)."

This place shows live games - the sportpub.

Wow! Thanks for the info. How late does the bar stay open?

No idea dude. Worth ringing them or getting an Italian speaking friend to ring. Bars in Italy stay open late, but I'm not sure whether they're 24 hours. The Irish bar will obviously be English speaking. Odds on they will show it. You never know......your hotel TV might show it.
