HENNE a Done Deal for 2010??????

:crazy:I dont ever post this kind of thing. and i also apologize if im late on this. i've been spending a ton of time over at the political forum and reading things about the draft etc etc. But its being pretty widely reported that the dolphins have set in stone that Henne will be the starter for 2010. This seems odd for any coaching staff to come out with and might hurt moral for 09 no? not that i dont like Henne but im a firm beleiver that if its not broke dont fix it. If Penny has a sorry '09 then yeah bring in the kid. but until then, im really down with the chemistry and leadership penny brings to the table.

Any merit to these reportings? can anyone confirm a REAL credible source? i just cant think they'd be talkinga bout 2010 when they have a capable thing going and havnt even entered this years draft yet....more b.s. hype?

sorry but henne will see the field this year. CP cant go 2 seasons in a row with no injury. Once Henne comes in CP will become #2 see drew bledsoe.

he was behind the new york jets o-line. this 0-line will keep him touched as little as possible. but i do also think that henne will see the field this season and take over and be the captain of the team by 2010.

I agree it would be quite weird for a staff to make this type of announcement, making Penny a "lame duck". Let Henne earn it on the field.

Yes, Pennington is in his last season with the Dolphins IMO. The trifecta has already let it be known that Henne is their guy in 2010.

I'm not sure i buy that Chad Pennington can't lead a Championship team statement. A lot of people say that, and point to his struggles in the playoffs. But we're not exactly talking about a guy who's played for any championship caliber teams here. Could Pennington really not lead the Colts or Patriots to Championship glory? A team where he has deadly weapons all around him, where his lazer accuracy and efficiency would be most beneficial. I mean how is he going to beat the Ravens with two WR's?

Yeah well, a lot went wrong in that game but the Ravens were clearly a better football team. I'm just kind of skeptical about people questioning Chad Pennington's ability to lead a championship caliber football team when he's never even played for one.

I have never heard anyone from the front office give any kind of firm date as to when Henne will be inserted into the lineup... i have heard them mention he is the 'future' and talk about it in a general way... But NEVER as to exactly when...

I don't think they would be dumb enough to disrespect pennington by looking past him like this and declaring that Henne will start in 2010. These are seasoned football pros who know better than anyone anything can happen... To come out and make this claim would send A TERRIBLE message to Pennington AND the team... Sparano and co. understand that.

I'm not buying the part about the FO not thinking CP could lead us to a championship, either. Hypothetically, if he was our QB for the next three years and we don't win a SB, I would surmise that we failed to build a championship team in the trenches.

The team has indicated they need to get Henne ready, but it's the media that's put a time table on it. If Pennington has a year equal to or better than last year, and Henne doesn't really challenge him in preseason the way they expect him to, you have to extend Pennington and let Henne continue to develop till he surpasses him on the field.

I'm not saying that Henne won't be prepared. I am curious though. What has he really done to alleviate your worry? :confused:
