Henne will always be compared against Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco because they were in the same draft class (he's already better than Brian Brohm)

Let's look at their first games

Flacco - 15/29 129 0/0 QB Rat: 63.7 Sacked: 0
Ryan - 9/13 161 1/0 QB Rat: 137.0 Sacked: 1
Henne - 14/22 115 1/0 QB Rat: 92.0 Sacked: 6

I think overall Henne did just as well as either of those guys. Ryan was playing Detroit and would go on to have an abysmal game against TB the next week. To me, this is an encouraging comparison. The 6 sacks is a big concern, but I could see Henne being a Big Ben type of QB, takes a lot of sacks, but can still win games for his team.

Hopefully the Dolphins can keep him erect (that doesn't sound good lol) come Monday night
:) Yes that does sound funny. We are not the Miami Sperm Whales we are the Miami Dolphins.

I'd prefer a sack over a forced throw that has the potential to be intercepted all day.

He played well his first game, it takes time people lets not rush this whole "is he the real deal" talk just yet.

They also got number 1 reps majority of the preseason while Henne got a week, Ithink that evens things up a bit.
Not really.. Henne has been with the offense and the system over a year longer than Flacco or Ryan, and not to mention Henne was taking first string snaps last year before Pennington arrived.

I like what Sparano had to say about him and his demeanor. About how he didn't look rattled or nervous at all and knew what the defense was doing as soon as he came to the sideline. Whatever his stats are, that is very telling since this was his first game.

Henne is a humble character with some toughness. Football is a mental game in many ways. I liked the kids demeanor when I saw him interviewed on NFLN after his draft.

O-Lines doin a great job run blockin, we just gotta step up in the passing game, give Henne some time to make good decisions and get the ball down the field from time to time

He's got better NFL potential IMO because of how quick his ball gets to the receiver, as evidenced by how low of an arc he has on his long passes. How well we protect him will be the telltale sign.

BTW- I think other teams are going to start focusing on D. Thomas as the weak link to attack.

That was McClown, and Lemonade taking first team reps last year before Penny came. Henne may have been with the system longer but there's a huge difference in playing/practicing with starters then 3rd stringer's. Henne has to get on the same page as his WR's on how they run routes and timing his throws to them. That doesn't happen in a week let alone the difference between practice speed and game speed.

True, but he also needs to learn when to send it into the cheap seats.
Sacks can hurt at critical times.
