Henne happy Dolphins signed Rosario, Rosario putting in hard work

The funny thing about this is Fasano has average a yard more per catch over his career (12ypc to 10.9ypc) and last season average 5.2 yards a catch more then Rosario.
Do you know who was throwing the ball last year in Carolina?

I watched Rosario a lot in Charlotte when I was going to school down there. The guy is really athletic and big. 6'4" and 250 lbs. is a good size for a highly athletic tight end. Keep in mind that when he was in Carolina, he had the likes of Jake Delhomme and Jimmy Clausen throwing him the ball. Last year he averaged a little over 8 ypc. Look at what the Panthers offense did last year. Nothing. I personally feel like we got a player that can be really good in the right system, and we got him as a steal.

This is true, but no one is afraid of Fasano going 30+ yards down the field and burning the LB with his blazing speed. Rosario at least poses the threat. Whether or not that threat occurs is a completely different question.

Funny you should bring this up last year Fasano had on reception for over 30yds (31), Rosario hasn't had a reception for over 30 yards since his rookie season (54). Now compare this to Antonio Gates the definition of deep threat TE, he has never had a season with his long not being 30+yds and usually his long for the year is around the 50yrd mark.

Because the panthers have Greg Olsen now.

Anyone doubting Rosarios ability is going to be genuinely suprised. He has skills, lets hope they play out for us.

Because they have Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shocky. Also lets stop whining about Zack Miller or trades. We already did not have a second this year and had to use a third to trade up to get a RB. If we traded the third it took to get Olsen we would of only had a 1st and 4th to work with. Rosario may not be the greatest tight end but he does posses good hands and some speed we were missing at the position. He is defenitly a proven player compared to our depth and thats why its a good pick up. We cant get every player on the wish list but we can pick up guys that will help our team and the past two years we have done that with Marshall, Dansby, Burnett and Bush. These are players in their prime and difference makers. Not many teams can say they have done that well. Also keep in mind players like Rosario, Moore and a few draft picks help strengthen our reserve crew. I think the front office is doing a good job with the exception of Oline which is a bit disapointing.

Oline and running back is where we have issues to where we started jsut 2 weeks ago compared to impovement from last year.
Hope we can stop the run too. Which we should but not Crowder so that may make a difference

I don't think anyone is coming here expecting Rosario to start and the notion that he sucks because he was cut by the Broncos is completely wrong. Rosario is coming of a career year in receptions for the worst teams in football. He was signed by his former Coach John Fox this year in Denver, but the funny thing and I don't know if this was because Fox had him in Carolina they barely used him in Denver during the preseason and Fox wanted to see what he had in his rookies, so both rookie TE Thomas & Green were always ahead of Rosario at the practices.

The Broncos went with the guys they drafted, and John Fox guy had to be cut. Simple as that. Rosario has shown improvement each an every year he has been in the league, he is a big target with speed and good hands. He also gives Henne another weapon. You can say what you want, but the Dolphins have done an excellent job of surronding Henne with weapons all around. Fins have a good receiving core, Two solid TEs and an Xfactor at RB and we have yet to see how they plan to use Clay.

its like kirwin said, rosario will not scare any defenses into thinking he is a threat. we should have signed zach miller when we had the chance.

Personally I also would have prefered Miller, but he would have cost a hell of a lot more then Rosario. If Rosario can at least be what David Martin was for us, we should be ok.

EDIT:

Actually, even though I did want Miller, the TE I really wanted was Olsen, and it drove me crazy why then the Bears let him go, they did not jump all over him.

You gotta love the sound of a guy working his butt off when he joins a new team. Say what you want about Reggie Bush, but I think he's already had an impact on our team. You also got to love Henne coming out and praising players.

Rosario is only a 2nd TE(No chance to pass Fasano who is very underrated on this board), but hopefully he can do his best David Martin in 08 impression for us.

It seems to be a trend here. Average or backup players are ALWAYS better then the average backup players we have on our team. It doesn't matter that Fasano has been and is better. Rosario is SOOOOO much better lol!!

Let's stop with the hyperbole. Rosario is a role player, not an all around starting caliber TE. He was brought in for his receiving skills. Ever heard of situational substitution? Shula was one of the originators.
The Pats offense is basically a team of role players and it works well for them.

I could watch that carolina/san diego clip all day. That's a big spot for Dante. He didn't crumble under the pressure. You need players like that. And if it opens up the middle of the field, terrific! Teams right now dare us to throw over the middle. When Fasano actually catches the ball (he's dropped a lot the last two years), then teams have to start changing coverages. When they do this, it creates openings for the wide outs. Like adding a deep threat (Clyde Gates), it gives the defense something else to worry about. You add a middle threat AND a deep threat and it's going to do wonders for our passing game. I love this move. And I love the fact that he's working hard to get in the game against the patriots. I bet he and Gates contribute at least two catches each. That should be enough open things up.

Look at these weapons on third down now:

1. Brandon Marshall
2. Devone Bess
3. Clyde Gates
4. Dante Rosario
5. Reggie Bush

Assuming Reggie and Rosario can handle themselves protecting Chad every now and then, how do you stop that? You line up in that formation and react based on how the defense plays you. If they bring the safety up go to Gates deep. If they use an LB to cover Bush, you go there. If they use a CB to cover Rosario, you go there. If they blitz, you hit the hot route.

You could substitute Brian Hartline for Rosario and have a four receiver set, or you could take Bess out and add Anthony Fasano and have a two tight end set.

These are all good signs of something we haven't had in a long time here in Miami - Offensive Options.

finally a te that could move better than fasano

I like the signing of Rosario in relation to the garbage we have at TE but lets not make unfounded statements like he was never given a chance in Denver somehow had to be cut because they had a 7th round te . Rosario was cut because he did not outperfrom the three kept over him in Denver. You do realize the coach is the guy who makes the cuts and Fox has seen Rosario for years , if he wanted to keep him or thought he was better he would have kept him. Just not sure why we have to make the players we sign seem better than they are.

i like the signing obviously god knows we could use it but i'll be shocked if he isn't missing time with some injury by the bye week...i just don't trust him to stay healthy

and please don't ask him to block anybody in line...
