Does the success of Pennington mean that we will see Henne in action later rather than sooner?

If were winning I dont see any rush to put him in. Let him learn the system, and put him in when there is no doubt that he is ready.

we know one thing he will see action by his third year, period (that is of course the front office sees him as our future) because if he is not starting by then i do not see how henne would wamt to sign with us again.

I am not sure about free agency after the NFLPA contract is void. thats for someone that remembers what happens and what year players become free agents. But i would suspect that he could hit FA sooner than his contract allows (which would screw up everything)

Penny is doing excellent and on is way to leading a very poor Dolphins team a year ago the playoffs, I don't WANT Henne in yet.

Why fix what ain't broke, amen.

Penny is known for getting injured though so that could effect when we will get to see Henne in action. I say we will get to see him as early as Sunday...Because the Hawks' will be down 49-0 by the 3rd quarter.

Henne wil not be rushed you can believe that. Unless Pennington is injure, god forbid or we fold the rest of the season. Henne will sit on the bench and soak as much as he can from Penny. We are in the best situation right now at QB. Pennington is having a great season and Henne is learning. Parcells will not rush Henne no matter what anyone says.

until the year before henne becomes a free agent and then you can bet they will "bret favre" pennington right out of here if they have to.

If Pennington keeps playing the way he is playing and we keep on winning then i don't think we will see Henne. But if Pennington was to get injured then that would be the only way we will see Henne.

Unless this team makes the playoffs, i suspect that Henne and Pennington will compete for the starting job in training camp next year.

I think it will be a situation similar to the Bengals during the first year of Carson Palmer. He didn't play at all, Jon Kitna led them to a very respectable record of 8-8, and then the following season Kitna was relieved of starter duties in favor of Palmer because he was the guy waiting in the wings. The guy they had invested. Even though Henne was a second rounder the Dolphins have invested quite a bit in him, so i think we'll see him take over (or at least get a chance to) even with Pennington's play being very good.

I am happy with the way Pennington is playing, but I hope that both compete for the starting job next year. No player should be guaranteed a starting position, imo. CK brought up a point in his cover story. Pennington still should have a couple of years good years left in him. Hopefully (if Pennington doesn't lose his starting spot) Henne will have learned alot under Penny about the game at this level including reading defenses, leadership, etc. so that when he does step in, we won't miss a beat.

It will be awhile until Henne gets the job.. I think it may be similar to the Favre and Rodgers situation.

EXACTLY! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M HOPING FOR!

God i wish more people on this site realized this. 2nd year QB's are highly susciptible to confidence loss or causing too many mistakes for your team. If we didint have Pennington here, things would be miserable.

Henne's rate of progression may actually be enhanced by him not playing.

But yeah Pennington is a bit injury prone so i'm glad we have Henne back there at least somthing goes wrong.

Lets all hope and pray that this new conditioning program that the Dolphins are using will pay great dividends. So far we've only had one injury this season and thats very rare for this franchise.

As much as everyone here hates Cam Cameron, he tried to explain this last year before giving into pressure and starting Beck. What happened? Beck failed miserably and now we have a contingent here that hate Beck beyond all reason. Would be sad to see Henne suffer the same fate.
