Henne, Long, Dansby and Bell voted Team Captains for 2011!

Another botched Florida vote.

On a positive team referendum like this, that required more than a little effort and commitment to win over his skeptical teammates, if you've got nothing nice to say, then you should just shut you piehole, hater!

Glad to see henne is a captain...I hope the team stays with him when he has a bad game because it happens to everyone.the good QBs just shake it off and come right back at you...GO PHINS

I'll try to say this in an articulate way so as to not get bashed by everyone here, but I really don't understand why everyone is being so negative towards fellow fans who don't agree with Henne being voted captain.

From the standpoint that he is our guy now like it or not, and he needs his confidence built up, do I agree with it? Sure. But do I think he actually deserves it? NO!

I think those of us who feel this way are more than justified, and it doesn't mean we're "sky is falling" types, or fair weather fans, or any other of the slew of cliches thrown at anyone with an unpopular opinion. Look at it this way, he has been with the Dolphins for 3 seasons, now I'm well aware he didn't start for anywhere near that but at this point he's basically had two full sesasons of starting as our QB, and during those he has proven time and time again to be mediocre at best and when things start to go bad the wheels fall off. Blame it on Henning all you want, or being over coached, or whatever. Facts are facts, the same people that say "it's only preseason!" are the ones talking about how Henne is a changed man this season, based on...you guessed it, preseason! That's great he arranged workouts during the lockout, so did half the other QBs in the league, you know what he also did this offseason? Dressed in fake boobs and drank out of a 40oz in the Bahamas all for TMZ to tape it and embarass our team.

I guess what I'm getting at, is there is a lot more evidence to say that nothing has changed, and no one should critize their fellow fan for having an opinion. Believe me, I hope Henne does a 180 this season and becomes the next Marino, I've been rooting for his success since the day we drafted him, but based on his career thus far, I hardly think we should be patting him on the back for a job well done just yet.

LMAO, seriously? You are referencing an event when he was on VACATION prior to any football work was getting started? Are you going to bash Tom Brady too for galavanting all over the globe with his super model wife and pulling off the worst gringo white boy dance I have ever seen and embarassing not only the Patriots, but the entire country of the United States?

The fact is, if his TEAMMATES feel he deserves to be captain, he deserves to be captain, period.

So the man cant go on vacation, have a little drink and clown around a bit after getting hit by lineman and bashed by the media (some of it deservedly so) all year? God damn. How would you feel if someone sent pictures of you on vacation to your boss and he held that against you when promotions came around even though you bust your *** every work day?

Well since one of my heartfelt "WTF" responses (not to you) that also slurred my state and the state our team operates out of got removed, I'll be a little more measured, but no less blunt this time around. (If that was you Tyler, you're a bad Bahamian!)

I could give a **** whether some armchair QB who might well be hundreds/thousands miles away and sees all of 2 if any live games a year resents Henne being named captain. Those opinions smack of transparent sour grapes to me as I'm sure they're meaningless to his actual teammates who've seen him up close and personal, must depend upon him and spent the last few months during the lockout and in organized daily workouts re-forming what was a previously skeptical opinion. Whether you're pulling for Henne to succeed or not, to not even begrudgingly acknowledge the symbolism of this honor bestowed on him by "a jury of his peers" is just chicken****.

Now certainly his detractors are entitled to feel however they choose regarding whether he'll be successful or not. Ain't nothing wrong with that, but to denigrate the vote by the people who professionally know him best rather than saying something to the effect of "I've got my doubts, a zebra doesn't change its stripes, etc, but I can see he's trying.. so props to him for that" speaks more negatively about you than about Henne. Hell, Taco was named a captain; it's more symbolic that speaks positively toward the team dynamics than having anything to do with functionality. Believe me, if he ****s up, captain or not, he'll be pulled for Moore.

I'm probably not gonna compete for anything this post season, so consequently I'm not gonna hesitate to call out agenda-driven bull**** when I see it whether or not it offends or ruffles feathers. Sorry. :idk:

Really I guarantee the FO stuffed the ballot box. I would bet Bess had more votes than Henne. I would bet Taylor had more votes.
