If Henne keeps playing well during the preseason will Pennington still be the starter come the regular season?

Yes....It's henne's first pre-season game fer crissakes...it's not even against TB's first team.

Cool your jets and just enjoy watching this TEAM evolve

It really depends if he can pick up the playbook. I personally would like to see Henne gel into the offense and give the kid a real chance. Problem is the WR core is weak and unexperienced right now so its a tossup, but if Penn can get the Playbook down then he should get 2-3 games to prove himself.

LOL, 11.5 million, he's starting, Henne will learn, just accept it, at least to start the season.

Ok whats that have to do with my question?

I really don't think our WR's are good enough to catch Henne's whizzing passes.. Therefore Pennington..

But seriously, this regime was not going to start Henne this season no matter what he does.. They brought in Pennington to start and have Henne learn under him as Chad Henne is CLEARLY the future QB of the Miami Dolphins.

The regime knows it, and that's their plan.. The sooner everyone else figures that out the more you can enjoy the evolving of this team over the next couple of years.

If Henne had led us to 2 or 3 TD drives vs backups I may have started this thread. 2 field goals not worth it.

I am all for the best QB to start. All I want is to win football games. I do have a bad taste about Pennington because I have hated him for so many years but if he is our best option to win I will root for him. If Henne keeps performing really well during the preseason would they not start him just because of the money they gave to Pennington though?

He might have scored a TD if our WR's could catch a bit better

It was the answer to your question. Might i suggest you pay more attention, not only to how the game itself works, but how the whole question and answer thing goes as well.

Just because you don't like the answer you can not dismiss the validity of the answer.

Ok you make no sense. The validity of the answer? Your answer had nothing to do with my question. Its very good that you know its Henne's first game. congrats to you. But your answer still had nothing to do with my question.

I see i'll have to spoon feed it to you. Your original question:

If Henne keeps playing well during the preseason will Pennington still be the starter come the regular season?

My answer was:

Yes.

Then i added the validation:

It's henne's first pre-season game fer crissakes...it's not even against TB's first team.

Then i added the admonition.....or to break it down simpler, the sage advice to reign in your obviously unbridled enthusiasm:

Cool your jets and just enjoy watching this TEAM evolve

You should relax and enjoy watching this team being rebuilt. You really think throwing a rookie QB into this situation based on a couple of quality passes versus a seasoned vet whose experience and steady hand is a throwback to the days when Don Strock mentored a young Dan Marino, is a better course of action?

Any further explainations you require should perhaps be thru PM, i'm sure most of the people here dont need the basics explained to them so elementary:up:

I was asking a hypothetical question my friend. I never insisted Henne should be the starter unless he earns it.

Personally i would love Henne to sit behind Penny for a year or 2. Then he would be fully prepared to take the reigns. Unless of course Penny gets hurt and Henne takes over and plays so well he earns the job.

There is nothing wrong with letting a QB mature. And for once I would like to do it properly.
