Im just going to ask this. If Henne doesnt have a great game in his first start of his career will everyone on this board destroy him and think hes a huge bust cause most people on this board cant think 5 minutes infront of their faces and want to kill a guy before hes even done really anything. He's already being "destroyed" now, after only playing in less than one half of a game. Does that answer your question?

He will make mistakes/turnovers, no doubt about it, but that's not what will define him. I also want to see consistency in his throws and not erratic trigger pulls.

Remember, over half the Bill's secondary will be new as well. Don't underestimate the loss of Whitner, a really smart and savvy playmaker.

I think he & the Dolphins will crush the Bills but if they lose or win & fold later I suspect Ronnie may be packing his bags to a contender for an inside linebacker or free safety &/or pick(s). He's our most tradeable commodity and will cost huge money to resign. Plus Ricky is here next year & Cobbs/Hilliard are very capable.

That aside, I think this weekend is going to be very interesting on a couple fronts:

1) Will Henning actually open up the playbook with Henne?
2) If not, do we at least add the deep out to the playbook.
3) How does Henne handle the blitz?
4) How is he with time management?
5) How much poise does he show?
6) Most importantly, does he take control of the team as the leader?

Win or lose, doesn't really matter. We all knew that we would eventually lose Penne and that this day would come. It may actually be better that it came early in the season so that Henne will get almost a full season to develop...or clearly show that he doesn't have "it." I hope for the best...either way, this will be a fun weekend.

I just hope there are people on this board to actually discuss his performance seriously next week; instead of "he sucks"..."no he's the greatest."
