Chad Henne took his share of hits in his 2009 debut, but the Miami Dolphins' future quarterback showed his ability to bounce back and come back for more.
Sacked on the first series of the second half and intercepted while getting knocked down to end the next series, the second-year pro rallied to hit Ernest Wilford with a 33-yard scoring strike that gave the Dolphins the winning points in a 12-9 victory.
Even on the Wilford completion, Henne wound up on his back, courtesy of a hit by Jacksonville linebacker Lamar Myles.
"I took a good hit," Henne said. "That's what you have to do as a quarterback. You can't see the rush. You got to make the throws knowing you're going to get hit."
Henne, who entered the game in mid-series to open the second quarter, wound up taking 26 snaps and going 7 for 11 passing for 94 yards. He blamed himself for a "poor decision" on the interception, which came after defensive tackle Derek Landri beat backup center Joe Berger and knocked Henne down.
"I kind of threw it blind," Henne said. "I was trying to throw it in the hole. I take that on me."
