I was very impressed with how well Henne played in the Saints game. Especially considering the high pressure environment. He didn't make any huge mistakes while the game was still on the line. If Ginn and company hadn't dropped all the perfectly thrown passes that Henne threw Henne would have put up some major numbers and we would have won the game. You can't do much better than hitting the guy in the chest and that is what Henne did.

I can't believe people are saying anything negative about Henne's performance. Henne played extremely well. Anyone that believes otherwise doesn't understand much about football. We lost this game because we have bad receivers, bad pass defense, and the offensive play calling in the second half was terrible. We tried to be the Saints at their own game rather than playing Dolphin football. Fortunately it is much easier to get new receivers and safeties than a quality quarterback which we already have.

Camarillo and Hartline and Ricky all had good days too.

I think saying he played great would be a stretch. He managed the game ok. He definitely did not play terrible, but I didn't see anything to great either.

He played ok.

I felt like he was responsible for some of the sacks. I really can't blame him for the INT's.

He needs to be treated like a rookie QB, I felt like the coaching staff put him in a tough situation. Basically not using him the entire first half then asking him to pass the entire second is unfair.

Play action pass on 4th and 13, second he turns around hes hit. Awesome.

He can really put the ball in small spaces and direct spots. I dont think our WR's are used to that. I want to see more of Hartline. He should of Reggie Bush leaped into the endzone. Which should not be the number one play on ESPN.

I thought your QB Henne played well yesterday. He handled the execution of the Fin plan pretty good, and clearly he had several balls dropped in critical, drive sustaining situations. The pick by Sharper was not his fault....the ball was popped up. The pick by Porter was his fault, but remember he was under intense pressure as he was releasing the ball. Keep in mind Henne was forced into having to throw because during the last 3 quarters of the game, the Saints were effectively shutting down the Dolphin running game. Overall a solid game from a young QB.

Henne was a bright spot? He played ok and that is all. That is less than good for the record.

The sacks are on him since he was a statue in the pocket and many passes were off target. The one that sticks out the most is the deep ball to Ginn. It wasn't even close and Ginn had the guy beat.

The gameplan really shifted to "have Henne throw and win us this game" in the second half, and i think that's a lot to ask out of a guy who is basically a rookie. They had done very well calling plays the last several weeks with him out there, why they decided to turn him into Dan Fouts and throwing every play i just don't understand. STICK TO THE RUN.

I was just about to tell the original poster that I've not heard a single fan criticize Henne's game. Then I read on and see a bunch of people convinced he only played "OK".

Here's a reality check. He made more great, potentially game-changing throws in this game than he did in the Buffalo or New York games combined.

That's not even disputable.

If you want an exact record of every incompletion, fine. Feel free to enlighten yourselves.

In the second half, the Saint's adjusted and started stacking 8 or 9 guys in the box. They were basically daring us to throw it.

In that situation, you can either simply pound the ball right at them picking up small gains all the way up the field or throw it. Few teams, if any, will choose or can run against that alignment.

We chose to throw it. We don't have the players for a passing game. It's as simple as that. My guess is you will see this defensive alignment a LOT from other teams for the rest of the year.

This is an accurate description of what went on. The problem I have is when you start assigning blame on Henne for making these ridiculous pinpoint throws often under heavy duress, or on the run, way down the field or even in the checkdown area, and the receiver either runs the wrong sight-adjustment or just flat out drops the ball...and we're using those instances as a means to say that Henne was "just OK".

Fact is, to my eyes, that was the best game Henne has played this year. He has literally gotten better in every appearance. In the San Diego emergency work, he was a little spotty, definitely made that mistake on the Weddle interception, settled down a little bit and led some offense. In the Buffalo game he was under heavy pressure and operated an extremely safe offense, really only had to make two factor throws in that game. In the New York game he ran the safe offense and had his jersey clean for the first three quarters of the game and then he needed to step up and make about three or four big factor throws toward the end, and he made them. In this game, he was asked to make factor throw after factor throw, and for the most part he made them, and then 9 times there was an on-target ball that was missed either because the receiver dropped it or he tripped on himself or he couldn't come down in bounds, or whatever.

Buffalo? He didn't play great against them either. He was solid, not great. And, against the Jet's he at least hit Ginn in stride on the deep route. Sure, the ball got to Ginn but it was still WAY under thrown.

And, don't get me wrong, I believe Henne could be a good QB for us. However, I am not willing to annoint QB's as a franchise player until they have a sold season or their last name is Manning.

Nobody's asking you to annoint the guy. Just don't go out of your way to assign other players' failures onto him.

He played his best game as a Dolphin yesterday. And it was a pretty damn good game that was wasted by receivers that acted like chickens with their heads cut off. Seriously, how many bad sight-adjustments? How many wrong or poorly run routes? How many straight up drops? How many times hit as he threw because the blocking was spotty? How many times did the guy come down with the ball but couldn't get both feet down?

How many good throws can a bad skill unit waste? Last night I'd say the answer was about 13 or 14.
