I've been saying that myself. We could be better and not win 10 games. Not saying we won't win 10 games but in order to do that we're going to need to be much better. Any resemble of last's year defense and we can forget about 10 wins so we need them to be much better. As far as the offense, we need more consistency and that will start with the o-line. I'm so hoping we can get a starting guard next week and that we can stay healthy up front.

Ozzy rules!!

I agree. I don't think we have a winning record this year which is why I am hoping Mike Tannenbaum doesn't trade away future picks because we'll be picking in the top 15 next year in all likelihood.

What really hurts the Dolphins is last years draft. It was basically a waste outside of Tunsil. Howard only played 4 or 5 games, he's basically still a rookie and none of the other players are at a position of need or even have a chance to start so their development is irrelevant. If they "stick to their board" and take players at positions we don't need...another WR/RB/TE and fail to address positions of weakness we not only won't make any progress but we're going to start moving backwards. Basically it's like a repeat of the 2013 draft which netted nothing.

Way too early to compare 2016 to 2013. That is "sky is falling" as it gets. Tunsil, by himself, will always make that draft better than 2013.

Again drafting Tunsil wasn't some gimme like people want to portray. We had an expensive LT on the roster and had a gaping holes at CB, RB and OG. Taking the best talent available instead of filling a direct need is the sign of what needs to happen around here. Just need more consistency doing that.

Always a blend of both, just like the Tunsil pick.

The 2016 schedule looked brutal on paper too, then real life happened and the Dolphins were 10-6. They'll have a winning record again this year if Tannehill can develop into a QB who can put the team on his back in a tough road environment and get the win. The defense likely won't be a lot better especially given the offenses we should face so I'm expecting Tannehill to step up in a big way. Continued middling performances in hostile environments will be troubling.

Can't disagree with Armando at all. Pretty fair assessment of things.

Not saying one draft is the equivalent of 2013...it's the consistency of draft players at positons we don't need that will have the same effect as the 2013 draft. And yes CB was a need last year and we took one, OG has been a need for a long time and we took none, zero, nada. We took an OT and moved him to Guard and everyone knew the minute we drafted him that Brandon Albert was on borrowed time. RB was a need because we let Miller walk (and no one expected the season that Ajayi had) but they addressed it by drafting a scat back and an injury prone one at that. A situational player...which is the same thing Grant is, that's not draft BPA. That's drafting Pat White for the wildcat kind of stupid crap there for a team with holes like Swiss cheese.

Well hey, real NFL teams have tough schedules and if they want to remain a real NFL team they need to win some of those games. No heat advantage? How about you just be better than those teams? If you can't win in Buffalo at any point of the season you probably won't do anything in the postseason either.

A ***** article written by someone who didn't predict last year's success.

Let me guess. After the 1-4 start and the 3 missed FGs by Cleveland's kicker that allowed the Dolphins to win in overtime you knew we would end up 10-6 and in the playoffs.

Now that you’ve had time to digest the Miami Dolphins 2017 schedule I want to make you feel great about it. I want to lift your spirits because you see it’s not an easy schedule. I want to motivate you and energize you about the grand possibilities of what is ahead.

But I cannot.

Sorry.

Your thoughts? :ponder:

My thought is that I edited this thread as the TOS clearly states:

Posting Articles
Added: May 30, 2002 - Please do not post an entire article. Instead, post the first three or so sentences, and then include a link to that article. The reason is simply due of copyright issues. And I for one do not want to have The Sun-Sentinel coming after me in a lawsuit.

And that I am getting very tired of warning people for this.

On the thread subject?

We punched about our weight last year - our D remains a question mark (I am being Kind) I think that Armando may very well be correct

It's nearly impossible to predict how good every team is going to be compared to last season. However looking at this years schedule there is no reason the Dolphins can't win 10 or more games.

We also might be:

- worse and get worse results
- worse and get better results
- better and get better results
