Herbstreit's Mental Breakdown

I wonder if Uran Meyer will still be crying about a playoff now that his team got the nod? Don't get me wrong, I want a playoff system too, I think computers and coaches polls are stupid, because a computer doesn't play the game and the "human element" is subject to personal bias, just like the Heisman (as seen by alums of certain school just voting for any nominees from their school regardless of who it is/who else is in the race), but I was getting tired of hearing Meyer say how his team was getting screwed out of a shot and we need a playoff.

I personally wanted a Michigan rematch, not only to see another game of the big rivalry, and on the national title stage, but because I just don't see Florida matching up well against OSU, just given how they have been performing lately. No offense to Gators fans, I'm glad you guys made it instead of USC, and I'll be rooting for the Gators, but I just fear we are going to witness another boring national title game whereas "the rematch" would have been close, because we already know these two matchup and go punch for punch.

If Michigan didn't win the turnover battle 3-0 then it's not even close. Imagine if Ohio St. won the battle 1-0 or 2-1, it could have been downright ugly.

Whatever you say pal, I'm done arguing about this specific topic as it's purely a difference in opinion. See ya on the field!

..thanks for agreeing with me.:D

That's what I don't understand myself. A few of my favorite quotes from last night:

"When you throw out the schedules and all the numbers, Michigan is a better team." :shakeno:

"When you throw out all the analysis, Michigan is a better team." :shakeno:

"When I make my poll, I throw out all the numbers and strength of schedule and all that. I subjectively ask myself, on a neutral field, who would win the game?" :shakeno:

"It's not Michigan's fault the Big 10 is down this year." :shakeno:

Dude, you got the game so why all the crying?

Dosen't mean anything.

Different day, different game who knows what the outcome would be.

You just can't say a team would lose again based solely on the outcome of the first game. If that was the case the NFL would only need to schedule division rivals once.
Irrelevant argument.

A decision had to be made and Florida got the call.
That's fine but clearly college football needs a playoff system in the future.

Michigan has a better offense ALL the way around..

QB
RB
WR
OL

The front 7 is slightly better also..you have an advantage in the secondary but thats about it..and special teams?? I dont even have to tell you that:lol:

But like I said before this game reminds me of 02 when we were 13 point underdogs to the big bad computer bowl bound canes...and we found a way to win. So its not a reach to say you guys could win, but I think the X factor is we have the best big game coach in the country.

:sidelol:

And as far as special teams, you have the clear edge in FG kicking but otherwise its pretty even.

It means Ohio State handed the ball to them 3 times and they still lost. I doubt they get freebies on fumbled snaps, etc. in the rematch.

It means everything went their way and they still were never in position to tie or take the lead.

It means the score made the game look much closer than it really was. I watched it and Michigan got dominated.

too bad Michigan gets to prep for USC not UF, better go tell them how good you are!!!We dont care, we are going to do what your coach can not, beat OSU. (i said try, i know it will be tough but i think UF will give it a shot)

Depends on what part of special teams you are talking about. We have blocked kicks and punts like Alonzo blocks shots
