Here is something I can't understand!

If we are gonna suck at QB anyway let Sage suck at it instead of Gus, I really don't like him.

That's the entire problem right there. Too many people on this board take sides when it comes to players. They are all Dolphins, so I don't understand why everybody has to argue about who they like and don't like. Everybody thinks that the coaches are all involved in one big conspiracy to keep their favorite players from playing. The coaches want to win and they're gonna play the players that they think have the best chance to do that. Let's play a real game with all the starters before we start jumping to conclusions.

Brock and Sage put up their numbers against NOBODY's in the preseason. Guys who are currently looking for jobs. Sure they looked good, but if they played against the people AJ and Gus did......they would have looked like garbage too probably.

We've seen Sage play against 1st stringers. It so happened he was the starter when we went up against the league's best defense. He also connected on our best pass play of the season to Chris Chambers. Coincidentally the corner that was covering Chambers was Chris Mcallister, one of the top 2 corners in the NFL.

As far as your statement, It doesn't matter if he was playing against 1st stringers or 3rd stringers. He still did the things that AJ and Gus failed to do. He checked the safeties, looked off his receivers, looked poised in the pocket, and threw perfect passes. He also didn't miss any open receivers, which we've seen Frerotte and Feeley do on more than one occasion.

I completely agree. Some people seem to feel a deep hatred for Feeley or Gus. Looking forward for either to fail so they can come and post "I told you he sucks".

I Gus will not hold the job the entire year. If we don't sign anyone soon and Sage starts getting the reps during the week, it is possible he starts.

Get off the "START SAGE" stuff.

It isn't going to happen. Stop crying about it. Move on!
AMEN!! What it is it with you people and SAGE are you related or something ?? The way you guys talk about him, like he's the next Marino. The guy has been here awhile and NEVER shown anything worth watching in practice(THIRD STRING) or otherwise to be promoted and the ONLY reason he's moved up is because Feeley sucks!! It's more of a punishment to Feeley than a reward to Sage.

I guess I was watching too many replays of Frerotte banging his head into the wall that I missed the PS games where he was torching defenses with his passing. :shakeno:

Personally, I know Sage isn't Marino but I also know that Frerotte isn't either. I believe that Sage can do a decent job at QB for this season. On the other hand, for a guy that knows this system, he looks like ****!

Because against THIRD STRINGERS you have that kind of time. And he had ONE good play so that give him the right to start...well sh*t then gus and AJ should start too.And if he looked poise in our pocket you know it was third string :rofl3: I wish they would put him in so this could be settled once and for all. These guys are all about the same... Gus with a small edge because he knows the system and doesn't throw picks like AJ and THAT'S why he's starting.

Feeley came here as a career 3rd stringer. The only value he ever had is called 'endowed value'. This is because a 2nd round draft choice was given for him endowing him with greater value than he actually deserved. I've been predicting him to return to 3rd string status this whole preseason. It's a wonder this didn't happen sooner. I guess Saban wanted to give Feeley every chance but Feeley is what he is and now it's time to move ahead.

I feel like Saban had to want Feeley to win the job. He's the guy with the arm and the "potential" to be more than a stop-gap for a season or 2. It's pretty clear that Saban has now decided that Feeley will not be our QB of the future and that we will need to go after a new QB, most likely after the season.

That being said, I would predict all 3 will get a chance at some point this season due to injury and/or performance issues.

Anyone know Feeley's bonus and cap hit if we would let him go now? Or in the offseason?

Look...All I'm saying is that we should give Gus a Chance to see what he can do (NOT PRE-SEASON) Give him a few games and if he isn't good enough then throw in Sage. We just need someone who can get the ball to the receivers and not make STUPID throws. We don't need a Marino (though it would be nice) It's a team and we need a TEAM effort to be successful. And I think given the time Gus will be alright..not A Marino but alright. Just my opinion.

It was Week 17 and the game meant nothing to either team!:shakeno:

Its funny to see some guy with a toydog talk about other people growing up.
Sage has as much talent as either feely or ferrotte...So i think its perfectly fine to root for Sage to start. We all can hope for another marino(there are none)But i will root for the underdog of this compitition...Anyone here that says he is not as talented or has at least as much potential as Feely or ferrotte needs to get thier collective heads out of thier arses.

And by the way Mike O(doh!) I believe that baltimore had a chance to go to the playoffs if they beat us and had some help from others... but i guess thats not a reason really to want to win? I am glad you dont work for this team.Although you would have fit right in with the staff from last year.(deaf dumb and blind)
