Here we go again: ESPN power rankings hate us

Yo I'm hopeful we can improve this year but we've been the definition of mediocre for 2 straight seasons... Not sure what u guys expect.

These rankings don't mean ****. I remember when we were #2 on someones power rankings after Week 2 last season.

That turned out well...

We should have been in the 15 to 20 range. Some of the teams above us are way too high. Honestly, I think the Bills are way too low. I see them as a 20 to 25 team this year.

Meh, I'd rather the Dolphins fly under the radar for now. They'll be plenty of time for accolades after we beat NE on national TV.

That would still be too early for accolades.

FWIW, Football Outsiders "ranks" us at 15 (weighted DVOA, putting more importance on the last 8 weeks of the season)....

Who cares? Most of the people on ESPN are idiots anyways.

Win some games. This team was under .500 last year and did not get better at QB. Time to show it.

I love how butt chapped everyone gets about power rankings from a source they claim is full of idiots!

I know it's pointless to cry about the rankings, but all we have right now is play-by-play of practice plays on Twitter, and there's nothing better to do.

24th? Really? I think we're clearly better than the Raiders, Cardinals, Jags, Seahawks, and Titans, and possibly a couple other teams. We have QB problems, but so does half the league.

And the Jets are 7th? Let's compare teams: Dolphins have a potentially great defense with a lot of talent. Jets have a potentially great defense with a lot of talent. Dolphins have skill at the WR and RB positions. Jets have skill at the WR and RB positions. Dolphins have a mediocre-to-bad young QB. Jets have a mediocre-to-bad young QB. But they're 17 spots apart?

Rant over.:3w:
you tend to be respected more when you go to the afc championship game twice in the last 2 years as opposed to the last time being in 1988 or so...

we have not won a playoff game since fielder was our QB, why should our rating be higher?

They have us at #24. Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't think we should be top ten, but I feel that is a bit low. Look at several of the teams just above us: Cardinals? Raiders? LIONS? Oh my!

They predict we'll go 7-9. Weird. Wonder where they got that. The Seahawks ahead of us is stupid. Rams are ranked bizarrely high.

I think 24 is fair. You can complain about Arizona, Seattle, and Detroit, but the Dolphins aren't that much better than any of those teams.

Miami's position in the preseason power rankings is about as meaningful as an incomplete pass by the quarterback in the first week of training camp. In other words, I fully expect 10 threads a day about it.
