:rant:I have been following the team for 39yrs. and every year it is the same skip in the record. When the sun is breaking through the horizon and the start of a new day seems within reach, the earth shifts and another cataclysm sends us back to the dark ages. First Larry Gordon drops dead from a heart attack while jogging, then David Overstreet dies, we get inflicted with a cancer that is inoperable in Tom"if I only had my guys I could run my system"Olivadotti, I am sitting in my living room praying to God they do not pick him and Rozelle comes to the podium and says those dreaded two words"Sammy Smith", Mr. Ego tells Dan Marino to not audiblize, Dumbstadt, Shameron, Mr. FistPump, and the list goes on but I digress. Every year it seems something happens to throw this team off kilter. That brings us to 2014 and Pouncey goes down. Now Jordan is popped for amphetamines. Are you kidding me? Do you think Shula sold his soul to the Devil for '72 and '73? Before I die I just want to see the Phins win another SB. Is that too much to ask?:(

This is hardly crippling to the team...4 weeks without a rotational player like DJ won't sabotage the season, and if it does play a big part in it, we didn't play hard enough. I do admire his comments after the news came out though, not too often you see players take ownership of their actions straight up. I'm pretty impressed with that. Thank god he doesn't have the personality/mindset of an Aldon Smith.

If it wasn't Shula, it was someone else- because this franchise has had a black cloud surrounding it for far too long now... I just want to see the Dolphins win A Super Bowl before I die.

It's really only 3 games as I'm sure that passport issues would have prevented him from flying with the team to London for the Oakland game.

Fourty years of saying, "Wait till next year," gets really old. I was 8 years old when we last won it and I am now 48. I just wonder whether we will go another 40 years without another Championship.

i'm not gonna roll out a "here we go again" til i see that 5 new starter oline put in work in the preseason and how much the scheme fits what they ask them to do...if i can tell that we are screwed up front again then i will be right there with you

at the end of the day this offense production will determine how this team fares this year...if the oline blows this seasons over before it starts unless the scheme is just so damn good it hides tons of weaknesses...and while stuff like that can work for short periods of time over 16 games it will be exposed if it's a weakness

miami did though just lose the services of a big part of the get off the damn field on defense package...this teams gonna have problems getting teams in 3rd and longs to begin with cause of how much we will be run at but if we don't have guys like jordan step it up and get us off the field gonna be a lot of long sustained drives against this d...and now he's not even an option for a quarter of the season...

I agree with AFCMiamiEast, it is bad but what has happened the past week and a half shouldn't define or cripple our season. Moreno's surgery is the least problematic as he should be good to go when training camp opens later this month. Even if he isn't 100% at the beginning of camp, he will still be back in plenty of time before the season. Next on the list in terms of least to most problematic is the Jordan suspension as it is a defined four games that he will miss, but the silver lining is that it is a loss at our deepest position on the team. The Pouncey news is the worst as he is essentially the quarterback of the offensive line, and his time out is not defined. Could be 2 weeks, could be half the season, we don't know yet.

The news has indeed sucked lately and we are definitely not going to be as strong going into week one as we initially thought we would be. Though it is early July, none of these issues are season ending so I don't think the team or coaching staff should get much of, if any, of a pass if the team starts slow. The team still has talent and can still compete for a playoff spot, they just need to weather the early part of there season. If they let these few issues define their season in a negative way, jobs will be lost come January 2015.

In terms of an "here we go again" feeling, these few problems are not as bad as some of the issues we have had in the past. I would even argue that the Buffalo Bills losing Kiko Alonso for the season is worse than all three of these injuries/suspensions we have had. At least we get our guys back this season.

On the surface, the 4 game loss of Jordan is not that big a deal. However, I have to wonder if the kid has other issues, as there was no reason to take speed during off season/OTA's. It serves no purpose.

I'm with you bro. 43 years. Although I don't think the DJ suspension will be as significant. Hopefully, he will appeal and be able to reduce the games he will be suspended. It seems like his position is one where there is the most depth. I hope he learns from this.

Kind of funny that you started following the team 2 years after B2B Super Bowl wins. Funny like in a "**** Me" sort of way. At least with me I'm used to the Dolphins not being ****.

Stadium. We celebrate patching a 27 year old stadium. That's not a breakthrough. It's a certification that we have no clue what we are doing. The people atop the franchise hire mediocre people who make mediocre decisions. Those decisions may not stand out immediately as mediocre. Sometimes it takes a year or two.

Dion Jordan had poor numbers in the metrics. I posted that link a couple of months ago, prior to the draft. His combination of 40 time and broad jump etc. led the author of that piece to label Jordan, "the reach." This was prior to the 2013 draft. I believe in that type of thing, particularly when it aligns with the Dolphins happily ignorant of the metrics. Besides, you didn't even have to rely on metrics. Jordan has never been a great player. We traded up for a projection. That's what mediocre personnel people do. Sharp guys trade down and grab players who have fallen out of favor for no apparent reason, after being slotted for premium spots earlier in the process.

I'll pay attention when someone near the top the franchise speaks out against the stadium.

The photo below must really piss you off. Haha. Are you and Norman Braman spending the Fourth of July together?
