Asked Sunday if McMillan is unequivocally the team’s starting middle linebacker this season – period, end of discussion – coach Adam Gase responded by saying he’s encouraged by what he’s seen.
Gase said Cordrea Tankersley, who started 11 games last season but struggled badly against Carolina, must play more to his strengths, including his 6-1 frame. Tankersley has lost ground in his battle for a starting job.

i really want to know what is going on with Tankersley. Lippett's struggles are justified coming off a major injury, but this massive regression from a guy expected to compete for the CB2 is mind blowing.

I agree with what Gase said about the second level guys being in the right position. That's, for the most part, on the coaches. McMillan is no dummy when it comes to football. The coaches have to put him in good position. He doesn't have the experience at this level to do it on his own.
