Here's the problem

Yea his drafts haven't been good at all, same With his free agents.

I said this in another thread too. Who drafts 3 injured players and a guy who was inactive every game of the season, with their first four picks. Then 4 picks later drafts a kicker who was one of the worst kickers in the league while the kicker he let go was one of the best. Then subsequently wastes 40M in cap space. We should be looking good next year as we seem to be currently 30M over. Then with expiring contracts we should be right around where we were last year. He better not be around to waste another 40m in cap space.

I do like Dion Jordan and Dion Sims. The rest are total trash

I'd have to agree. As many of us know, Ireland bragged going into this year that he had picks and money. Instead of filling glaring holes with either of these, we chose to cut ties with personalities that didn't fit- i.e Dansby, Burnett, Long, Bush, etc. Whether this is all on Ireland, or was the express request of the coaching staff, it ultimately falls on Ireland's shoulders to replace that talent with equal or better prospects. End result the money went to mid tier free agents in which he hit on grimes and missed on all others.

Then he used a first and second rounder on Jordan- which wasn't a need at all. The rest of his picks barely contributed, and all and all it seems a horrible draft class.

Just the top 4 picks alone. Nothing more needs to be said. He had a first, two seconds, and two thirds...and came away with 4 guys who didn't contribute anything of significance all season. Brutal.

Because Ireland is a Fng idiot....until he is gone we are F'ed

Well consider that Jordan didn't make an impact because a third-round player from the year prior (Vernon) did, and consider that Taylor didn't make an impact because a Pro Bowl free agent signing (Grimes) did. Those were both Ireland's moves, as well.

After that you're talking about third-rounders and beyond, and I'd caution anyone to expect anything significant from one of them in his rookie season.

I agree, it's a train wreck.

And to make matters worse, we used 2 high picks for our first selection.

But Ireland did do a good job in free agency. There's absolutely no reason why the Miami Dolphins offense couldn't score more than 7 points in 2 games, with the roster they have. That says something about coaching.

I expect 3 first year contributors from each draft class, nothing less.

We were screwed whenever Grimes and Patterson were hurt. The rookies couldn't make an impact because they weren't good enough or they were hurt, too. Jordan will be a good player in the future, but regardless of who was on the field this year we didn't have a consistent pass rush. Look how much time Geno Smith had, today. We had a basket full of picks and got very little out of it for 2013.

I remember being told how brilliant this draft was...it was his best draft ever!!!

it's not fair to judge a draft class until 3-4 years down the road. Teflon deserves tenure.

Irleland has not drafted well at all since he has been here. This past years draft produced nothing on the field this year.
