The Miami Dolphins have traded up to the 97th overall pick with the San Francisco 49ers, selecting Lamar Miller here.

Many people had the former Miami running back as a first-round pick and the second best at that position behind Trent Richardson. While his fall is stunning, you have to worry about possible injury issues. Either way, it is a great trade for the Dolphins. Miller can now team up with Daniel Thomas and Reggie Bush in the backfield.

The Dolphins paid a hefty price, however. They sent the 103rd pick, a sixth rounder in 2012 and another sixth rounder in 2013 to move up a few spots. This is the second time the 49ers have traded down and have now acquired two extra pick in the 2013 draft.

Ouch. I retract my curious statement and bump it up to odd.

Very much worth it. They picked up an extra 6th from SD earlier in the draft so basicly they gave up next years 6th to pick up the 2nd best back in the draft in the 4th round. This guy is a beast. Time may be running out for Steve Slaton and the kid from Canada. Doesnt look promising for Bush after his contract expires if this kid lives up to what he did at the U!

What is so "horrible" about the trade? I am read the passage four times. I am missing something. I did not know the 6th rounders were so valuable.

We have a 1st round level RB in the house for a pair of 6's...I will take it. He is the best RB in the draft. Mark it down.

I know lamar miller is good i like him but ffs if you going to do that trade get someone we need!

This.

Ireland acquired an extra 6th when he traded down in the third yesterday. So all he really did is trade away next year's 6th

1 of the 6th round picks is for next year which I'm sure we will get another somewhere.
