Admit it,
When Feely came into the game, it changed your outlook on the entire season. For me, despite the real possiblity that we would not win this particular game (Tennessee), I still felt upbeat because there is hope for this season yet.
We get a good young qb who gets hot, and anything is possible. That's the feeling we all have right now (most of us anyway). Recall Tom Brady suiting up for the Patriots a couple years back. Sixth round pick. A nobody. A back up at Michigan, but dammit if he doesn't have a great arm and is a winner. It's the same thing with Feely. We've got a shot now. I don't know about you all, but I'm excited about the possiblility of this year BECAUSE of AJ. If he's just decent, combined with our great defense, we're going to be very good. If he's better than that then we have a good shot in the playoffs.
If the line keeps getting better (and it has each week). Feely corrects his mistakes. Gordon turns in a solid season (1000+). Konrad returns from injury and plays up to his potential and Sullivan does his magic with the receivers, we have the potential to be a KC-type offense. Granted KC's secret is a dominating offensive line and we're probably eight to ten games away from that level once McIntosh returns to the lineup, but the seeds are there and that's what this article was talking about. I don't remember having this type of optimism at anytime during the Fiedler era. I thought he was serviceable, but inconsistent and that would kill us in the playoffs. With Feely, I don't feel that way. A guy breaks open deep in a game and Feely's going to hit him in stride - consitently. That's what you have to have in the playoffs.
