Hey, Hey, A postive article.. wow!

there's no turning back now. i can't wait for the next game. feeley better be gettin ALL the snaps in practice this week.
i haven't written this season off yet, but if a new coach were to come in i'd rather have it be an nfl guy and not a college coach. saban does have some nfl experience though i guess.

I don't care how much better they say the Bungles are...IF we lose to them this week, Wayne should really look into a mid season firing!

WOW !! Thanks for that post it's refreshing to hear an upbeat voice outside of the faith here. He made an excellent point I was thinking this weekend. This team will get better and I beat the Titans are thankful to have played us so early in the year.

Well, I haven't ever been known to be a cheerleader, and even accused by some of the more homerish fans to be "not a real fan" whater that means. But I didn't start heading for the hills after the game. I agree that there's some promise to this team. The way I look at it, is this was one of the more horrific performances by the Fins in a long time..Jay was, well Jay, penalties were atrocious, and the refs made some pretty stupid calls that really set us back. That said, if Olindo makes that FG, we would have lost only by a TD to what should have been an AFC championship team (Tenn got ripped off big time on that last drive aginst NE last year) last year, and one damn good team this year. Just think about that. Can we possibly play worse with AJ at the helm ? Maybe, but i doubt it. While it still might not improve a whole lot, I think that's the worst it's going to get. Now cut down on the penalties, let all the newbies learn the playbook and get more reps, get Timbo back,a nd hopefully some consistant reffing, and the fins show they can go toe to toe with anyone. Again, is that good enough for the playoffs. I have no idea in this crazy leauge. But too me, things can only get better..perhaps only in small increments, but better none the less.

I found this part disturbing.

"But, we hear that Spielman’s loyalty to Wannstedt played a big part in his drive to improve this year’s team and give Wannstedt a fighting chance to keep his job beyond this season.
Spielman could have re-signed Ogunleye, but that would have limited his ability to improve an offense that looked woeful through much of the preseason with a weak running game, an alarming lack of depth at wide receiver and an unsettled offensive line. That would have likely resulted in a losing season that would have made it difficult to bring back Wannstedt as coach.

Instead, Spielman really went to bat for Wannstedt and has given him a decent offense, at least on paper. But will Spielman and Wannstedt get the chance to reap the benefits of the Dolphins’ youth movement on offense?"

Spielman may have made the O-gun trade out of desperation to save Wannstedts job. Keeping O-gun may have been a better long-term move for this franchise. And he may have sacrificed the future to have a winning season but not a SB season and save Wannstedt's job. Also its possible that if the team doesnt play well this season Rick may advise Wayne to keep Wannstedt

nice to read positive media post. he said what we all think. WE'LL GET BETTER!!

Yep that is a nice article, and I would agree with all of it.

Admit it,

When Feely came into the game, it changed your outlook on the entire season. For me, despite the real possiblity that we would not win this particular game (Tennessee), I still felt upbeat because there is hope for this season yet.

We get a good young qb who gets hot, and anything is possible. That's the feeling we all have right now (most of us anyway). Recall Tom Brady suiting up for the Patriots a couple years back. Sixth round pick. A nobody. A back up at Michigan, but dammit if he doesn't have a great arm and is a winner. It's the same thing with Feely. We've got a shot now. I don't know about you all, but I'm excited about the possiblility of this year BECAUSE of AJ. If he's just decent, combined with our great defense, we're going to be very good. If he's better than that then we have a good shot in the playoffs.

If the line keeps getting better (and it has each week). Feely corrects his mistakes. Gordon turns in a solid season (1000+). Konrad returns from injury and plays up to his potential and Sullivan does his magic with the receivers, we have the potential to be a KC-type offense. Granted KC's secret is a dominating offensive line and we're probably eight to ten games away from that level once McIntosh returns to the lineup, but the seeds are there and that's what this article was talking about. I don't remember having this type of optimism at anytime during the Fiedler era. I thought he was serviceable, but inconsistent and that would kill us in the playoffs. With Feely, I don't feel that way. A guy breaks open deep in a game and Feely's going to hit him in stride - consitently. That's what you have to have in the playoffs.

Your getting a bit ahead of yourself comparing us to KC. We would have to have a Miracle for that to happen this year.

If we play to the potential I believe we can then I feel we will be reading more articles like this in the weeks to come.

It would be great to see the phins earn and recieve some respect.
