The only chance we have is if we can get the running game going and put pressure on Brees. The player that gives us the best opportunity to bring pressure is Wake. Please use him early and often.:D

Wake in space equals disaster. You people need to understand if he was as productive as you think he was, he would be in there on crucial downs. He struggles against the run and teams have taken to chipping him w/ a TE or RB. And I would figure watching A PUNTER juke him would put his abilities or non abilities more apparent.
He is a fine pass rusher in a 3rd and long situation, but unfortunately for him and us the game of football and the responsibilities of a DE/OLB in certain situations call for more than just pass rushing abilities. What was that punters name?

Yeah, I agree. The conversion on the first fake punt was horrible. Wake absolutely has to make that tackle. It's not like he was one-on-one in the open field with Leon Washington. I just want to see him more often on obvious passing downs.

That is all I am saying. I would like to see him used liberally in pass situations. But I agree he is not as effective in run support. But as a pass rusher he is the best we have and hopefully, in time, he can get better in run support.

He got broke down as if L. Washington was on the field. Was sad really.

IDK, he had his break out game against a very weak and young Bills offensive line. Yes that oline did well yesterday, but they also started moving the pocket late, ala, MIA. I will say though, Wake needs to show progression, its just hard to find a 'good' situation to use him. Teams are starting to get a file on Wake, and they will take advantage of the weakest link if it presents itself. In that game when he was in, NY chipped and kept him off balance, where as when MIA's better overall DE's or OLB's can fight through those blocks and still make plays against the run. I just don't see the value in the game of giving him too many plays, taking plays away from others who bring a total all around game compared to his own.

3 sacks, 1 FF, and numerous pressures. The o-lineman even got called for holding him. 3rd down and anything more than an easy run and he should be in there.

Use him as a sub of course. I'm sure he will see action. He goofed on special teams last game though. He should have run down that punter in the open field.

Goofed on the special teams play? He lined up to the right of the center yet he was the only one to attack the ball and ended up on the left side of the field. Where the F was everyone else? The punter had a running start while Cam had to make up ground being on the opposite side. If anything, this should be a case for him to get playing time. He had great pursuit but just couldn't make up all that ground.

The PUNTER faked going inside, and Wake bit. Plain and Simple. He was in position to make a play, but he didn't. I guess shoulda woulda coulda's are all that matter now days here on these boards.

You're acting like he juked and broke Wake's ankles, which he didn't. He already had the angle and he stutter stepped and Wakes hesitation cost him the play. Stop making it out to be something it wasn't.

We really need to get Wake more involved. He has his weaknesses, but that's why he needs to be used situationally. He can be a real playmaker and right now Taylor and Porter having been getting to the passer as often as we need. They are both better and smarter players than Wake, but as a pure pass rusher Wake has raw ability that they both don't have at their age.

In my mind, the only way we get a W is to get some pass rush, which is very difficult on a QB with the presence of Brees. That's why we need a guy who can get to the QB off the edge even faster than Taylor and Porter can.
