Hickey pre-draft press conference at 1 pm today

Here are some notes
Miami Dolphins ‏@MiamiDolphins 20m

Dennis Hickey on the offensive line class: "There's some really good players at the offensive line position."

Hickey on moving up or down in the draft: "We'll explore all avenues that we think can help."

Hickey on the type of player he wants: "We want talented players that help us on the field, and guys that are good teammates."

Hickey on whether having higher picks or more picks is more valuable in the draft: "It's hard to say, but I always want to have more picks.

Hickey on the draft almost finally being here: "I'm fired up about the players that we're going to add to this team."

Hickey on what draft day will be like: "The goal is for draft day to be calm and measured...and we'll be confident and ready to go.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 6m

Hickey on injured WRs: "Those guys are doing well in their rehabs. Real excited watching those guys ... They're progressing well."

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 10m

Dennis Hickey says the board in the early rounds is set up. Might be minor tweaks. Still working on later rounds and priority free agents.

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 5m

Dennis Hickey said Brian Hartline, Armon Binns and Brandon Gibson are all progressing well from their knee injuries.Won't factor in to draft

So really said nothing. God I love NFL GMs

And in other news, the world is round and the sky is blue. A lot of nothing here. Hopefully, he is right about being confident, prepared, and ready to go...that will be really great to behold.

Exactly we all could have said all that- TBH if he said anything else I might be a little worried. He said the WR's that are injured are progressing well and won't be a factor so that probably translates into we are looking at the WR position!

Did anyone really think Hickey was going to give away the teams draft plans at the presser today ?
He said what we expected him to say .

I'm with Albert on the WR's. i like what we have but if one of the top guys falls to #19 and the guy they wanted is not there I would not be surprised if they took one. We can still get a O lineman and LB is the next two rounds.

Obviously results are yet to be determined, but I really like how confident Hickey seems with his process and approach. It seems like he's done this way longer than Ireland ever did, even though actual GM experience would say otherwise.

i don't even know why they have those things frankly...they're nothing but fluff

He said what I expected him to say which it nothing. I'm ready for the draft right now.

I would have rather had the strength & conditioning coach tellin us how Jordan, Thomas, Brenner, and Taylor are doing.

Why? Those coaches would lie to us just as much as Hickey did. They teach this to these guys in college. Coach Speak 101.

It's one of those, damned if you do, damned if you don't situations. If they don't do these pressers then there would be a bunch of people up in arms because they are not vocal enough.

I think one of Hickey's best traits is that he seems like a nice guy. I think that can go a long way when it comes to signing and dealing with players and with getting deals done with other teams in the league when it comes to trades. I think he is a breath of fresh air when you compare his style with Ireland. I do have to hand it to Ireland though, when it came to making trades he did a great job of getting the better end of the deal value wise. What Ireland paid to move up in last year's draft was highway robbery. He also got great value in the trade up for Daniel Thomas and for what he paid to acquire Reggie Bush.

Pretty happy with this press conference. Said absolutely nothing days before the draft.
