Before looking at the #19 pick, we need to look at what happened in FA as well, as they are inter-connected.

At the start of FA, we signed Albert, a VG pass protector and below average n the run, which I think was predetermined from 2012. He will be 30 this season, has missed 4 games each of the last 2 seasons, and we overpaid. Still a HUGE upgrade.

I wanted more, and was told to be patient as FA was only 3 days old. Patience brought Shelly, VG on the run, bad on the pass but, a pretty good signing to add to the mix. Then we added Fox, who has talent, if and when he can play. That was it.

Asamoah and others had said they wanted to come to Miami, and it was nothing more than money as the reason we did not add 1 or 2 more to the OL. We're talking about adding a million for an OG, and maybe $2M for a RT. That money could have come from giving Albert a million less, and Finnegen $2M less or using some of the cap space we are "saving." Hickey/Philbin saw this mistake or would not have been pushing Streiff for a visit. A different FA equals a different draft.

On to the #19 pick. I would have liked to move up a few spots for Martin, thought it would take a 4th, and that we were doing it when Dallas took so long for their pick. No problem. At #19, there was more value at WR, S, and CB. Have to trade down.

There were offers, and cannot believe James would not have been there later, as there were no OL taken after #19, and know of no team having James rated higher than a couple of others. This was a mistake. James may well work out but, no reason IMO not to trade down.

From everything I see on James, he needs to get strong like most coming into the NFL, and needs work on technique. He needs a year or will struggle, as most others do.

Not impressed so far but, will hope for the best, and wait and see.

I couldn't read anything past your complete lie regarding Asamoah. Here is a direct quote from his agent:

“We have agreed to a deal,” said Joe Panos, Asamoah’s agent. “Jon took less to go to Atlanta, flat out. The reasons are because number one, he knows they are going to win. The stability of the organization and the guy he’s blocking for, Matt Ryan and the coaching staff and Mike Tice.

He took LESS money to go to Atlanta.

LOL. I posted this a few months ago, and believe it was from a KC paper or site. What does what his agent saying on his final choice have to do with anything? You're missing the forest for a fallen leaf. Amazing.

Who should we have taken then?

Just wondering what the wizards of smart say but I never get to hear.

Who did the Pats take?

Who did Philly take?

Who did Denver take? I mean seriously, do people realize this kid will start day one and some of these other guys will not?

He sure looked good against dee ford man handled him. Faired well against clowney too although its only a small sample. The tape doesn't show him being weak. Don't look at weight lifting numbers look at the tape
