Hire Shannahan and Kubiak

Mike Shanahan
20 years head coaching (2 with raiders, 14 with denver, 4 with washington)
8 time going to the playoffs (4 division championships, 4 wildcards)
5 one and done stints in the playoffs
Outside of the superbowl wins he has only 1 playoff win and the superbowl wins were with one of the best QBs of all time and a 2000 yard running back...
Total record is 170 to 137 with a 55% winning percentage

My problem with him is if you take away his 4 years with elway his record is 123 and 120...during those 4 years his record was 47 - 17 (his worst season was 8 - 8) in the regular season and 7 - 1 in the playoffs they didnt go in 95 and in 96 they lost to the jags...

outside of the elway years he has only had 6 winning seasons, 3 .500 seasons, and 7 losing seasons...I dont see him as this fantastic coach that he gets credit for being...

Well take away Brady and see what Billicheck record is. You play with who you got. So that is not a good argument.

That is a good argument he s not great without an HOF QB and a borderline HOF RB.

BB would be a DC somewhere today if not for Brady but how often do Brady's and Elway's come along? not very often and obviously you don't have one right now for Shanahan to work with.

The argument was not specifically that he only won with elway, but that without elway he is a below average coach...he has gone without elway for 16 of his 20 years and only been to the playoffs 5 times...

think about that...he went to the playoffs 3 times in 4 years with elway and the other 16 years of his career he has gone 5 times...

Think about the whole point of this thread...We are talking about trashing our front office because a coach went 7-9 his 1st year with a rookie QB, and 8-8 with a qb that has improved from last year, and replacing that staff with a head coach who in 16 years has only been to the playoffs 5 times...I would rather give our front office another year than take a KNOWN .500 coach, than take a coach that only went to the playoffs 31.25% of the seasons he has played without 1 of the top 10 qbs of all time...you know what you have with shannahan after 20 years, you have a .500 coach who doesnt make it to the playoffs...we are mad at failbin, but we do not know if he can get better...We know shannahan will not get better...

Belicheat had the Pats at 11-5 the yr Brady tore up his knee in the first game.....

Miks Shanahan is as big of an ahole as a human being as you will find and he just ran the Redskins into the ground. If he was ever good, the game has passed him by.

really?
He is one of only 13 coaches to ever win multiple Superbowls, but aside from that he is average? Even if you take away his two Superbowl wins, he still goes to the playoffs every 3 years and you think that's bad?
Sorry, I can't agree. I think what you have shown is Shanahan can win if given legit talent. He won't be the reason you lose

Shanahan post Elway has been nothing more than mediocre.

I live near Houston and have watched that team more than the Dolphins over the past few years.

The softness and mental lack of toughness of that team is unreal.

Kubiak has had top notch talent and his teams annually have underachieved. 2 WC home playoff wins in all that time there is disgraceful w/ that talent.
