Here we go again. Our front office is going to f this whole thing up just like the Harbaugh fiasco. If we are suppose to be " all in" for manning then why did Denver meet with him already? Why did Philpin say " we see how things develop in the next week or so?" we should have been outside Lucas oil stadium with contract in hand and the brinks truck in the parking lot.

Manning has the right to visit as many teams as he likes before he makes a decision. How has the FO f'd up?

Really? So you expected a smart man like Manning to simply go sign with his 1st choice without visiting any other NFL teams?

Let me ask you this, when you go to buy a car, do you pay the sticker price?

Come on man.

I like the car analogy. I know when I've purchased a new car, yeah I went to the dealership knowing what car I was gonna buy. But before I signed, I checked some others on the lot for fun.

Calm down dude. Manning has to make these trips. He has to do his due diligence. These trips helps his agent in contract talks as well. And remember, Ross isn't the only guy with money. Let the process play itself out.

Maybe i would have taken you seriously if you actually spelled philbin correctly.

I have been a loyal fan for 42 years thru the good and the bad and I will be till the end. I just don't see why we weren't first in line to schedule a visit.

Have you been reading posts on the MBoard?

Leverage. Manning would be an idiot to not apply maximum pressure on Miami. When you have leverage, you use it, or you are a moron.

Plus, there is no way Miami and his agent have not already made contact with each other about a contract and what they are willing to give to Manning. Manning has been thinking about what teams he wants to go to for months, and the Dolphins have done their part to make him know what they are willing to do. Ofcourse neither side would ever admit that, they never do.

He's just saving the best for last. His agent will have deals from other teams by the time he meets with the Dolphins. His first question to Stephen Ross will be..."can you beat this offer?" Of course Mr Ross will say yes.

I'm not optimistic. At the end of the day it is almost always about money and the Broncos have much more to spend. Agents get a percentage of the contract so Condon will 'advise' Manning to take the offer that ensures Condon the most money, although he won't frame the decision that way.
Ross and Ireland have only limited role in this.
I recall when Reggie White became a FA (in the early days of free agency). As an ordained minister he kept stating publicly that he wanted to choose a city/community where he could continue his ministry in an inner city.
At the end of the day he chose Green Bay, WI. Not exactly known for their large inner city population. What Green Bay did offer (coincidentally) was the most money.
So call me jaded, but I would be shocked if Manning chooses the Phins.
