Complaints about him being conservative are just stupid, IMO. What do they expect with a team that's lacking in talent? Did they expect him to try and be the Green Bay Packers with that offense? The guy was practically a miracle worker for getting what he did out of both Tebow and Orton the past few years with the limited talent they had to work with.

So you were a Henning supporter? Because he did the same things.

McCoy had Jesus on his side most of the season. You can't beat that.
 
I listen to the Bronco's flagship station (850 KOA) pretty much every day living here in Colorado. McCoy is pretty well regarded and he has had to try and adjust the Bronco's offense and play calling to fit Tim Tebow, rather than the other way around. I think he has done a decent job given the fact Tebow throws the football like a teenage girl. There is no official word that McCoy has been offered or accepted the job, but if he gets the job he will have my support.
 
I don't know what to think about McCoy yet, but I do like that he is willing to adapt to his teams' strengths, which is the total opposite of what we've had here the past few years where we try to do things that the team just wasn't suited for, simply because its what the coach has always known/done.

Fans hate what they have when they feel that they are more emotionally invested in a team than the coach is. THey also hate it when the team sucks, which ours has since shula left...

Despite his failure in Miami Henning was highly regarded around the league for years.

But I'm not really sure how much Henning has to do with this. We're searching for a Head Coach, with it's own particular skill set, and not an offensive coordinator. Just because the guy was an influence on McCoy doesn't mean Mike suckles at Dan's teats, or that he wouldn't let his OC open up the offense if the talent dictated it.

People point to McCoy's 'ability' to adapt. Well didn't Henning adapt to his personnel? And where did that end up?
 
Okay, so we've figured it out!

Mike McCoy: praised for adapting his offense to his personnel.

Dan Henning: someone has been posting ad nauseum that he adapted his offense here to his personnel.

Therefore, Mike McCoy = Dan Henning.
 
Dan Henning had nothing to do with the Wildcat. That was Parcells. Parcells was talking about bringing the Single Wing back to the NFL while he was at ESPN. His first hire on the coaching staff was David Lee, who was brought in to implement that offense. It wasn't something cooked up after week three or four, it was something they ran from the beginning in training camp, and they saved it for when things got desperate.

Dan Henning was once a good offensive coordinator, but if you look at his body of work from his last few years and think that he was creative or adaptive to changing circumstances then, uh, good for you, I guess?

Well geez junc, we all KNOW that everyone in this forum cols call a better game then the losing OC did. I thought that was common knowledge.

Exactly, Dan Henning wasn't the wildcat guy, that was David Lee.
 
Not a huge Henning guy but always thought he did everything he could to win games with a QB who made few mistakes in 2008 and try to prevent his QB from losing games in 09 and 10.

DC Del Rio
St ?

I'd be good with that. Daboll was pretty innovative at times and Del Rio has a great resume as DC. Unless there is a way to get a Griffin we go BPA and fill holes in FA. I think Matt Moore is a good QB a deserves a shot.
