I'm listening to Sporting news radio on XM and a K.C. fan is on...saying that the newest hot rumor going on there is this....Washington want's to trade with the Dolphins....the Dolphins number 2 pick for Washington's 9th and 25th picks. Sounds reasonable....now the interesting part....K.C. has been blowing smoke concerning Surtain....most if not all teams know the Chiefs need a corner...but the chiefs want the other teams to believe that they are going after a corner in the draft...instead they are going to trade for surtain using the 46th pick and this is where it gets better....they are going to trade up to the Dolphins 9th pick by trading their 15th pick and Larry Johnson. This way they get their corner and the player they feel they need to move up for. The Dolphins get their Running back...plus they have the 15th and 25th and 46th picks.
Frankly I have to believe it....I don't think any person could figure out why the chief's wouldn't trade the 46th pick for a pro-bowl corner...it just didn't make any sense...what possible player could they get with the 46th pick that could come close to a player like Surtain...but after hearing this...it all comes together. The Chiefs get their two players...they get cap space by trading Larry Johnson...who hasn't had much chance to play behind Holmes...and the Dolphins settle the running back position with a big back that can catch and block...and acquire the additional picks Saban wanted. Lets hope this works out...if it comes to pass...it'll be the best trading day we have had in awhile!
GO PHINS!

There is talk that #7 and #18 may not be enough, in which case #9 and #25 definitely isn't enough.

The KC thing has merit, but we'll see.

I would take it.....those 3 picks would really help the healing process as far as turning this team around is concerned. That would make Saban a genius.

Do you guys think we could get more from the skins than just a 9 and a 25. I think those are their only 2 first day picks, but i would like a 2nd or 3rd in '06?

I'll tell you this much...I'm listening to one K.C. fan after another crying on why the chiefs refuse to trade for surtain...I haven't heard one say...I don't want him. I believe the Washington and K.C. story to be true....getting two first round picks, and a top running back like Johnson is more than enough value for the second pick....considering how screwy this draft is. Sometimes less is more.

basically it's

Surtain and #2 for #15, #25, #46 and Larry Johnson.

Sounds right....better than #2 and surtain...and nothing more. Even if you cancel out Surtain with Johnson...we still have the 15th, 25th and 46th picks.

Do you think that much of Larry Johnson? The trade for Surtain is for the #46, that's what we've been going for all along, and that seems to be fair. So are we, in essence, happy with trading the #2 for the 15th, the 25th and Larry Johnson?

Hey, this is all hypothetical speculation - something for us fanatics to do to occupy our time. Do I think it will happen? Not really, but who knows. After all, the NFL has loosend up considerably with regard to trades, so you never know. The question is: do you think it's a good enough deal?

Dont like it Fishy, dont like it at all. I was never a big Larry Johnson fan.

Thats what I don't know about.

I think #2 for #7 and #18 is only fair because we should still be in a position to get a RB... so #9 and #25 isn't enough IMO.

It depends on whether or not you like LJ I think, if you do then it is a great deal... if not then it is questionable.
