We all know that our gameplan this season has been to jump on our opponent early then be conservative and preserve that lead.

My question to you is: Do you think this is intentional and we are actually "dumming" down the plays, as to not show our hand too much. Then when that final game comes against the Jets, they'll see a lot of stuff that hasn't been seen by anyone this season, much like the New England game in week 3. I don't know about you, but I have a sneaking suspicion (sp.) that Sparano and Henning have something up their sleeves.

You know I have thought the same because it seems like we score quick when the game starts, after the half and the end of the game if needed.

I seriously doubt it though and I just think it is the coaching style (reminds me of Marty ball where you jump up on a team and run the entire second half).

I often thought about that too. Like we have the lead so let our defense just win it the rest of the way. Then in a game where we really need to score they really open up the playbook. Maybe just over thinking but the Tuna works in strange ways.

I'm not really sure to be honest. I mean, I wanna say " No, why wouldn't we go all out 60 minutes every game? " But then I look at it, and you're right. We dominate in the first half, and then we do nothing in the second, unless we're down and then we almost always score the points we need with a touchdown

I don't think that they are "dumbing" down once they get their lead. But I think they try new things with new players, london, wilford, ect.. and they kinda use it as practice. idk.

Honestly, I have a feeling that they could dominate if they Really wanted to. New England game a few weeks ago. The offense was doing pretty good. But the defense just couldn't stop cassel. The jets game is going to be quite a show. ;) And Everygame next year is going to be show. Remember, this is a rebuilding year haha. Damn and we're 9-5. Can't wait for the years to come.

No. They would have built up more of a league in the last three games before going conservative if they could have...

An NFL team is not like a light switch.

I mentioned something like this in another thread. We haven't seen any trick plays or much of the Wildcat thepast couple of games, it has mostly been base offense. Also, we haven't pounded the ball much. I think that we will skate by KC and do what we need to win then will unleash hell on NYJ! I truly believe that we will win these next two games and will beat NYJ convincingly.

Doubt it very much. Usually when teams go conservative and "hold back" they run the ball. Miami did'nt run until the 4th quarter on Sunday. I really do believe the Fins were going all out against the 49ers for 3 quarters and then became conservative. I just think the offense had a horrible day plain and simple.

I think that to a point our offense is running some pretty basic stuff. It would not surprise me at all these last two games to see some different plays out of some of our base formations. Here's hoping.

i think people have just overanalyzed the wildcat without knowing the facts behind the offense. the reason we're not doing all kinds of nutty crazy things with the wildcat is not because we're saving it, but because we just had no plans to run those plays.

i seriously hope they don't go conservative in the middle of a tight game because they're planning for a game weeks down the road. that'd be terrible coaching. which is exactly why i don't believe it

Actually we're saving these great plays for the SuperBowl, why waste them trying to get there. If we don't get there this year then we'll save them for next year. Genius, pure genius....this coaching staff owns this league. I even think (actually I know) we have some absolute studs on the practice squad that will get activated come playoffs and shock the world. It's gonna be great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
