I was reading an article today about how there is not going to be a salary cap in 2011 and how this could lead to a lockout. I really hope this doesnt happen as one-i dont want the players going on strike and two-no salary cap is horrible, the cowboys would become the yankees, not good at all. Is this going to get fixed??

Dolphins are one of the richest teams though...they listed them in an article kind of recently (sorry I don't have a source right now).

I don't think that it will ever come to this. The reason that the NFL is so popular is because they do most everything right. There aren't the complaints that we have in the MLB, NBA, NCAA, and NHL.

I think it will get fixed. The threat was there a few years ago and they quickly got something together to prevent it. Obviously the Owners didn't like it since they opted out of the CBA earlier this year.

The NFL is one of the best ran organizations in the world. They will do everything possible not to tarnish what they have built. I doubt there will be a lockout.

In a way I wish the cap never came into the league. That's why the Dolphins were so successful before the cap. They have been pretty bad since the cap came into the league. They put the cap into the league to give the other teams a chance. I think it made the good teams bad.

The fins could be like the Yanks if we did not have a Salary cap. Players want to play for Florida teams cuz of the no state taxes and the weather. Who does not want to be a millionaire and live next to the ocean?

The fact that baseball has no salary cap is not a problem. There have been 7 different winners of the world series in the past 8 years and 23 of the teams have made the playoffs since 2001.

I hope to dear god they don't. No cap is the reason MLB has become such a ****ty organization.

Also keep in mind it was Gene Upshaw that said during the NFLPA/Owners meetings earlier this year that if 2010 was played without a cap that the NFLPA would never agree to a cap for the next CBA. I haven't seen much talk about renegotiating the next CBA after Upshaw passed away, so the possibility exists that the NFLPA will back down from this demand.

No salary cap probably won't happen. A similar situation happened in 2006 and everything was solved in the end with cap being raised by 10 mil or so.

I think you refer to forbes.com financial lists of all sorts. They have as far as I can see the Dolphins as number 15 of them all.

I know this is a year old, but it would probably be something like this today also. I do not know about the global financial crisis may have an effect on this here.

Immediately I don't fear any kind of hold out from the players. They might resolve the conflict by then anyway. Relax guys!

There are two problems that I know of. The first is retirement money for some of the older players that didn't get squat when they played a long time ago and now have health issues and are all broke...some of them...it is their own fault for squandering their money. For others, they were basically used, broken, and discarded...I feel for them.

The other problem the rookie money. It is ridiculous some guy comes into the league without playing a down and gets paid more than someone going to the HOF in the future. This needs to change.

Both these issues were basically blocked by Gene Upshaw...now that he is dead, things will most likely move on more smoothly.
