Holdout may be next for Pats' Samuel

I wonder whats going on there?

Is it just he's not happy with the money or is it something else. Somethings not right if your number 1 CB wants to leave, espically when the Pats will be Superbowl contenders.

Asante's so full of it. Before last year, his one GOOD season, he wouldnt even be a top 25 free agent. Now he has a good year and wants Nate Clements money, you know, money for being consistantly good. Asante gets his interceptions, I understand that, but by no means is he a shutdown corner and his tackling is amazingly horrible.

Actually, The league made sure that there would be no more shut down corners.

As a Pats fan, I honestly don't care if he holds out or not. The team seems to bring out the best in every player, and if Asante dosen't play, some one else can step in and have the chance to shine.

He's looking for 30M guaranteed the 1st three years. Unfortunately for him, his name isn't Brady or Seymour, so he'll have to hold out a loonnngggg time.

Sad thing is, if the Pats had offered him 10M guaranteed last year, he would have jumped on it.

I'm still hoping the kid has half a brain and comes in before camp is over. Show you can have two stellar years and the Pats might just pay him. If he holds out for the season, he's a complete moron.

Good for the Pats not paying him. They showed they can use and replace anytime, so why would they overpay for a guy who had a great season on a "contract" year [contract years usually give players a chip on their shoulder just to get the cash].

if he doesnt play that will be great for the dolphins ill take my chances against randall gay...

I also believe he wants a long-term contract (on top of the money). He is set to make $7+mil this season alone, however if he gets injured in week 2, his chances of signing a better deal after this season goes down the drain.

Losing Samuel will hurt. You cannot simply score on every rookie that takes the place of someone. its rediculous to think so......the thing that makes the patriots great is Tom Brady running that offens. But this defense i bet would be is as old as the Dolphins is reported to be. Bruschi is wearing down IMO.
