I just don't understand why veteran players would rather have had a 1st round QB. When you pick a QB in the 1st round, there is enormous pressure to start playing him right away. You would think they want to win now. That is what Cam and Randy are doing. Setting us up to win sooner rather than later, and at the same time, they have helped set us up for the future.

I guess the media brainwashing about Brady Quinn really fooled a lot of people, including the players.

BS, just Vonnie trying to remove his foot from his mouth. he says "I couldn't believe it then, and I can't believe it now" that doesn't sound like his initial shock to the pick but an ongoing one, and by him mentioning June you know these comments were very recent.

Hey... anything we can talk about that doesn't involve Trent Green and Daunte Culpepper right now is fine with me. Here's the link to the article:

Wow. I guess lots of people read Michael Silver's article today:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...r/06/07/ginn.dolphins/index.html?eref=writers

I bet Ted and the coaching staff might have read it now. I'm hoping that it just inspires Ted to do even better. I hope that foot gets healthy soon. Maybe Ted should go over to Zach's house. I hear he has an oxygen chamber that might help him heal it up quick in time for camp this weekend. Dolphins fans are all drooling just thinking that 4.2 something speed out there this year. :chuckle:

Well, I see the frustration that they're all out there and Ginn is not...but I loved the pick then and I still do....he'll get out there and once he does he'll make plays for us.

Ozzy rules!!

I was shocked when I read holliday's orignal comments, it really looked like he was bashing Ginn. At least he's trying to not come off like a hater, we don't need an internal dispute between players before the season even starts.

The article isn't about Holliday's dislike of Ginn. The article is about veteran defensive players who would've liked more impact from the #9 pick.

I disagree that it obvious that he was taken out of context...I think he's simply backpedaling...

I think like most he was suprised and baffled at the selection(He too fell into the Brady Quinn hype machine), and was caught in loose momment and spoke his mind to the SI reporter.

It's only his opinion afterall, but once he sees what Teddy Ginn is capable off (with that ridiculous top end speed) he'll be saying to himself 'Goddamn I was wrong'....

Let hope your right.

I think he means he wasn't expecting it, not many of us were.

I don't think that means he hates the pick or Ginn.

I respect your opinion, but please explain these then:

"With the ninth pick they took a guy who is basically a kick returner -- a hurt kick returner."

"Here were are in June, and he hasn't been in camp yet."

"But I couldn't believe it then, and I can't believe it now"

Bold font added :D

Saying he was shocked then, cool. Saying he's still shocked now, not cool. Calling Ginn basically a kick returner (did he miss the numbers Ginn put up in college in addition to his kick returning?), a hurt one, not cool either.

I havent followed this situation closely at all so I can't say a lot.

Cam has been calling him a kick returner also, so I don't know. I think he is disappointed we chose a guy who may not have a huge immediate impact, but I don't think he dislikes Ginn or anything.

Hmmmm could the kick returner comment have possibly stemmed from Cam's introduction and explanation of the pick on draft day??? You know that whole, we're gonna love his family and kick returning jive... Hmmmmmmmmmm
