I have not seen Holmes play much but his size and skills remind me of Byars. Any of you think so?

Do you mean Alex Holmes?

The only problem is that we allready have McMike, Donald Lee, and Ed Perry at tight end..I'm not sure if we will keep 4 tight ends.

Saban said that Holmes was the most impressive tight end in the group at the rookie training camp and also was the smallest in size, but still huge in my eyes.

I wouldn't be upset if we went in a different direction with our back up TE.

I dont think Donald Lee has done anything to actually have earned the hype that he gets.

Besides his rookie contract is soon to be up for renewal.

Assuming McMichael makes it thru camp injury free.....I would not be opposed to making a change at the back up spot.

Well I Don't Know Cause I Don't Like To Compare Players But He Does Have Some Skills And He Is A Great Blocker. :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

No. There's really not much of a comparison.

Keith Byars was a tailback in college. He wasn't a burner, but he wasn't slow. Alex Holmes is slow for a tight end.

The Dolphins will likely keep four tight ends though, because Ed Perry basically just deep snaps. Holmes will have a shot at making the team has a third tight end. His primary competition will be Victor Sesay, who is probably a good practice squad candidate as he needs some polish to his game. Sesay is much bigger than Holmes, but Holmes is the better player at this point.
