SEVERAL WIDEOUTS TURN OUT SOLID 40 TIMES

Posted by Mike Florio on February 22, 2009, 11:15 a.m.
In the early goings of Sunday’s Scouting Combine workouts, a handful of receivers showed excellent footspeed.
Among them (unofficially), Deion Butler of Penn State dashed to a 4.28, Percy Harvin of Florida hastily put up a 4.37, Darius Heyward-Bey of Maryland blazed a 4.32, Johnny Knox of Abilene Christian nailed a 4.25, and Jeremy Maclin of Missouri made the clock stop at 4.40.
More numbers to come throughout the day.

Nicks 4.49 and 4.51 . . . 2 solid times for him.
Solid times for him but I think he was still disappointed. On his Combine Diary he was hoping to run in the low 4.4s.

The 40-yard dash always receives a lot of attention, especially for skill position players, so that's been a lot of my focus. My goal is to run a speed in the low 4.4's. I think it's possible. At Carolina, I was timed at 4.5, so I'm hoping to shave a tenth of a second off.

Johnny Knox the record setting WR from Abilene Christian ran the 40 in 4.25

Nicks may have just bought himself a first round ticket
Most definitely. The Ravens were already looking at him because of his route running and hands. Now throw in some very good speed and this makes him even more attractive for them at #26.

Louis Murphy 6'2 205 running a 4.33

He may very well be a steal in the draft
