so far! Ok, i'm watching a local station here in Tampa tonight and they're of course @ Bucs camp in Orlando. Chris O' Connell, local guy on Bay News 9 is talking about Ronde Barber and the fact that he's the 29th best paid defensive back in the NFL. Then he say's "29th, that's right, that's rediculous, considering that Barber is what, one of the top 2 or 3 best DB's in the NFL!" To which my response was: :rolleyes2 :lolcry:

And the fact that he was SO SERIOUS, like he actually believed what he had just said and said it with a straight face. Top 2 or 3 BEST DB's in the NFL! :roflmao:

So, is there anyone, ANYONE that can justify this statement? Is Ronde Barber a Pat Surtain, Ty Law, Nate Clements, type of DB, or does he benefit from the Monte Kiffen system in Tampa?

Rhonde Barber is one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

He's not Nate Clements or Ty Law, but he's Rhonde Barber. He's a corner in a cover two system that can rush the quarterback or intercept a pass. He makes the big play and he's a proven veteran that has lots of responsibilities. Rhonde is a great player, don't get high on Clements.

Absolutely! I talked one of my co-workers into giving up his season tickets to that game to my wife and I. We need to have a huge Dolphin pep rally or something on game day, I love nothing more than pi$$ing off bandwagon jumping Bucs fans!

Ok, I didn't say the guy sucked @$$ @ DB, I said to state that he was top 2 or 3 in the league was laughable! He's a system CB, put him in a man to man, press coverage Defense and I be he doesn't hold up as well. But he does what he needs to do in THAT defense, however, that effort does NOT put him in the top 2 or 3, or top 5 IMO!
 
Wow....has anyone actually seen him play? He's an outstanding corner that could be the #1 position on most teams. Now, I'm not sure if I would say he's one of the top 3.....but he's definitely in the top 10 if not top 5.

Ya I got my Dads buddy to sell me 2 of his season tickets to the game. I'll be ticken off a few buc fans myself. And they are bandwagon b!thces too, nobody was supportin the bucs when they were orange and had that brawny paper towel guy on their helmets. :lol:

He'd be the #1 here by far. Beggars should not laugh at those that are better stocked.
 
He's an excellent CB. Strong, athletic, great tackler, very instinctive. Barber's not the greatest in man coverage. Definitely a better zone guy. He's not quite Surtain. But he's a great player who creates turnovers. Very physical as well.
