I'm a Pats fan so, FWIW. I thought the Dolphins this year were a complete enigma. I really thought it would be a Pats/Fins shootout. As an outsider, I now see lots of questions that make projections a complete crap shoot. Who will be the new coach? And for that matter, who will be the GM? There's lots of talent on defense, but lots of that talent is aging. Will Jason Taylor be back? (As a Pats fan I hope not). But that said, I still think the talent is in place for the Dolphins to have a very very good defense. But from my view, the offense is just not very good. I was never really sold on Culpepper as the solution (I'm a closet Vikings fan, BTW) though if he returns to form he'll help the offense a lot. A lot will depend on finding someone who is at least a decent game management type QB. Right now, I see that as a huge hole. Ronnie Brown is very good and if Ricky Williams returns you'll be in good shape at running back. But help is needed on the OL and I also think you need help on the outside. And it's the NFL where the difference between making the playoffs and going 4-12 are really pretty small. Who would've thought that Eric Mangini and the Jets could go 10-6 and make the playoffs? And who predicted that New Orleans would have the kind of year they've had? So even with the current disarray, I think there's enough talent that the Dolphins finish at about 9-7 and sneak into the playoffs.
