to all the daunte bashers i ask a serious question. ben roethlisberger in two games has 5 int 0 tds and 2 losses. would you bench him for charlie batch?
obviously not, because you know what he can do, and you assume he needs time to get back in a rhythm. why is daunte any different?
daunte did about all he could do today to win this game. recievers were not open, oline was awful, and the majority of the game started 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 9 bc we couldnt run it early. anyone who blaims the sacks on daunte after this game is lying to themselves. watch other games and see how much time qbs have. daunte is under pressure every time he has the ball.

Yeah if Ben can't get it together he should be benched before PItts season goes down the tubes. I'm just glad Daunte pulled off the win, he gets at least another week to try to improve his play.

Daunte can't get the ball in the endzone against the Titans, big difference, Ben was playing against Jax and Cincinatti 2 very good teams he has an excuse. Daunte not throwing even 1 touchdown against the Titans arguably the worst team in the league is rather pathetic.

a win with zero turnovers is building his confidence. people bashing him will be eating crow within a month. hope your hungry. Daunte is having issues no question about it. but he will be fine...our expectations were too high too fast, thats why you feel the way you do.

Still believing in this season and Daunte supporter!

I believe this is something Daunte can build on. I'm not calling for Joey.

Decent observation. I agree with the Ben comparison.

Recievers were open though. OLine was horrible. Daunte made some bad choices and hesitated. He didn't throw an INT atleast so thats moving forward.

i agree... big ben doesnt have half the excuses Daunte does either.
He won the superbowl on that team last year.... At that time Daunte wasn't even a phin and couldn't even walk.

I have gone from a Daunte supporter to a Daunte basher after the Buffalo game so I will give my serious answer.

No...I wouldn't bench Ben bc he went 15-1 in starts including playoffs in 2004 and 12-3 including SB victory in 2005.

Yes...I would bench Daunte bc he has gone:

2001 - 4 Wins 7 Losses
2002 - 6 Wins 10 Losses
2003 - 7 Wins 7 Losses (went 3 - 7 to close the year)
2004 - 9 Wins 9 Losses (went 3 - 6 to close the year) includes playoffs
2005 - 2 Wins 5 Losses
2006 - 1 Wins 2 Losses

Total - 29 Wins 40 Losses since 2001
Has gone 6 and 13 in his last 19 starts
Has gone 8 and 16 in his last 24 starts

BEN HAS A SUPER BOWL RING!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he loses the next 10 games,he gets a free pass in that town (at least for the year).

Daunte has done nothing to earn a free pass with anyone.
