Before we got Daunte a lot of people said it would be horrible for the Dolphins. It probably wouldnt be exaggerating to say maybe 15 % were going hard for Daunte while most didnt even want to think of him because they wanted Drew Brees. So it will be interesting to see what everyone thinks now. Who would you honestly rather have? Culpepper or Brees

I was kind of enamored with Brees' numbers before we made a move.

But now, knowing what we know now, Daunte all the way.

We don't know when Drew will get his full arm strength back.

even before any injury to both quarterbacks.....

id rather recieve a qb that injured his knee than his arm.....a qb THROWS the ball....

at least culpepper could walk off the field, brees almost passed out from his injury, brees injury was much worse im suprised new orleans didnt offer culpepper the money they offered culp, better deal deffinetly goes to MIAMI

I just think it will be amusing for everyone if not a single person goes with Brees, or if the numbers are immensely disproportionate

I was always for Culpepper. Brees' shoulder injury always worried me and I stated as such when the debate was raging. If nothing else, C-Pep could spend some time with Marino to learn pocket mobility.

You can only make a decision based on the info you have at the time. I reckon a lot of people said they wanted Brees because they were supporting what they thought was the teams decision. Whilst they might not vote for Brees given a free choice they also wouldn't vote against him.

I would have taken Brees but that doesn't mean that I don't think that the Culpepper trade was better on every level. Lets be honest he would still have been an improvement but yeah we did a LOT better. But 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It's not like Brees and Culpepper were stood side by side for us to pick. Saban's misdirection and planning to get what he he wanted at a price he was willing to play was utterly brilliant. I wouldn't want to play poker with him.

Best off season move in the whole NFL - Culpepper to the Dolphins
Funniest moment - Complaints of being manoevered into over paying for Brees

Pure genius.

I'm coming back to Miami again this year for sure

I've been a Culpepper fan since he was a freshman at UCF. I was very excited at the possibly he might play for my fins.

I was never all that impressed with brees. I was concerned about both but I truly did want culpepper more. I mean come on, he threw for 4700 yards and 39 tds to only 11 picks. That gets me hyped Randy moss or not.:dolphins:

Based on pure athletic ability and talent, DC was the hands down choice. But given that both were coming off serious injury (DCs knee and Brees shoulder), I wanted us to look elsewhere than either. I didn't like the idea of giving up a draft pick for a player who may not be able to play a full year for us and still feel that there is question about DC, even tho everyone else seems to be optimistic. I'm also sure that much of my doubting is based on the fact that we just haven't seen much of DC, except for one mini-camp and some OTA days. When he's in the fray of TC and not being held back, then I'll feel better.

As to Brees, coming off a shoulder injury was very worrisome, even tho we wouldn't have had to give up a draft choice as well to get him. I kept seeing Chad Pennington's face on Brees head...but more importantly, Brees is just not as good as DC is. He's talented and shown well for 2 years, but what about the 3 yrs prior to that where he played miserably ??

Having DC, even if it means he can't start until later in the season was a better option because he'll heal from his knee injury sometime, whereas Brees will have a question mark on him because of the type of injury suffered...

I'm just glad the 'Phins got a Pro Bowl caliber QB and I think a good argument could be made for either one of them, as both have their positives and negatives. I think a big part of the decision came down to the asking price and who it would have cost more for the Dolphins to obtain. While Brees wouldn't have required giving up a 2nd rounder, Culpepper's contract didn't hinder the FO as much in the FA market.

Honestly for me It was a toss up, as long we got one of the other it was fine with me. I was just so sick and tired of our past qb since Marino, that either of the 2 qbs would have been a dream come true.

Culpepper before knee surgery maybe, But I like Brees. And he never had a
Randy Moss. No disrespect to Daunte.

I would've been happy with either guy. I like how Brees is 2 years younger, but overall I feel we would've upgraded the QB position no matter who was here
