No doubt a John Benton pick here folks...when I did my predraft targets thread in March I said this kid was the ideal right tackle for benton in a move scheme...3rd round grade 3rd round value

my guess is he's here to play left guard and provide right tackle versatility with the James signing..,I tell ya this though this is an ideal move athlete...raw in his technique it may not be plug and play but it's real talent...moves like a gazelle down the field gets out to things in space most guys can't...

that said with James here do I think that was a smart trade to gain 14 slots and give up a 4th rounder to do so? No I don't...

love the upside love the move potential but that price IMO was rich...bottom line though is we added some real talent in day 2 something this team hadn't done for as long as I can recall

So I take it you don't miss the Jeff Ireland Experience?

If he starts at LG and Shelley plays RG, I'll be one happy trooper hoops.

Yeah you know something with the tackle versatility here right tackle specifically I have changed my mind...worth the price...very good feet one of the best kick slides I saw at the combine...natural bender athlete can overcome angles...superior athlete kicked inside...I'm game

Solid day 2 drafting….

I also think he provide insurance incase Glass Albert goes down

My cousin is a die-hard NDSU fan. He texted me right after the pick and gave a glowing review (said much the same as hoops) and ended it with, "you will love this guy. He is a badass!"

Positive reviews is not tolerated here. Every Draft pick is a bust and a reach. Forever 8 and 8.

Good to hear some positive things from somewhere Hoops. IMO 2nd round value in the WR pick and reaches for needs at the OL positions based on most info out there. Still that is the spot we are in for many reasons. I love the lower rounds as it tells me a lot about the GM. Looking forward to tomorrow. Hoops any help out there at ILB, safety and CB in that order?

i saw somewhere on the board a ndsu fan said that turner has said he wants to play guard in the nfl.

and thats awsome!! he WILL START DAY ONE and be great for years. one of my fav players in this draft.

any help out there at ILB, safety and CB

PHINTIM:

as far as cb goes, there are two guys i think that are special and could be day one starters.

MARCUS WILLIAMS: NDSU billy turners team mate. wicked hitter, ball hawk. great cover skills. 21 int's and 78 passes defensed!!!

MARQUESTON HUFF: safety or corner. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...fl-draft-2014-highlights-scouting-report-more

ANTONE EXUME: is a kid i would like in the later rounds. he has 1st/second round skills but hurt his knee at the beginning of the season last year. also plays safety.

DION BAILEY: this is a safety i really like. a prototype safety and should have been rated much, much higher. compared to louis delmas!! exellent skill sets.

CARLOS FIELDS: [olb] winston salem st. and MARQUIS FLOWERS: [olb] Az are both exellent mid to late round prospects who cover te's very well.

NOTE: it may seem like i am a bleecher report freak but i thought for the sake of not posting a bunch of links i would give one draft sites opinions. you can go hunt up others if you like.

hope this helped. still a LOT of quality players left.

He came across really well on his finsiders interview

You can see the raw talent there, but it's the play at 12:50 that I really enjoyed.

"Oh ****, I have to block two guys on a critical third down? No big deal." *proceeds to block them*

I absolutely love the Turner pick. This kid gets after it and is really physical, something this offensive line needs. I think the price was right considering Miami added picks.
