now that's more like it...got a great shot at .500 or better going into the 2nd half the season...must win and we got it done...let's get to it...

ryan tannehill has put together 6 quarters of very high end qb play...dare i say franchise level play...the qb is getting better in this offense...all i can ask...starting to flash the elite talents and consistency that i expected to see...25 of 32 277 yards and 2 tds no picks no real shots for the opposition to take the ball away...started 14 of 14 even passing...those aren't game manager type #s folks...that's a qb showing up as a difference maker

i keep hearing how he doesnt go thru progressions well i disagree and that corner td to wallace where he came all the way to his 4th one on the play and threw a perfectly placed strike for 6 is an example...

qbs athleticism is fueling the read option offense...he keeps gaining chunk yardage when he keeps the ball and the inside zone running game will keep having success...especially against stacked interiors out of those looks...duel threat qb who can also beat you in the pocket as he's been showing...i would like to see him take less contact but at least he's primarily in the open field and it's more one on one stuff when he's taking it...but that athlete is fueling the offense...matt moore could not threaten teams in the same way nor would he provide the same success in that regard...

the qb did still leave some points on the board...sack in fg range has to throw that ball away he even went to the sideline and pointed at himself for the reason we didnt get points out of that drive...i like that...shows the kid is learning...don't take points off the board ever

liked the movement of the qb not a stand still pocket but put the athlete and the on the huff accuracy and placement to good use...played to his strengths...well done...

he's gonna take heat for the red zone intentional grounding call but i'm ok with it...he's got trips to the right side of the formation stacked he's got clay one on one in space to the left presnap i know he likes that left side matchup i like it too but what i dont think he or the offense accounted for was that db was inside leverage which means any quick slant given that coverage is gonna be tightly contested clay did not win inside as a result...tannehill looks to the trip side to influence the defense sure he's got landry for a split second in the flat but he wants that one on one on the backside he didnt account for that leverage though...or the offense doesnt is what my read is on it as much as anything...reason i say that is last year if you got that inside leverage play clay would have run a fade to the back corner away from the leverage or a back shoulder at the front pylon...anyways tannehill by the time he comes back to the right side has pressure in his face and he throws the ball out the back of the end zone...only thing he really needs to learn on that is make sure when you throw it uncatachable you put it over one of the left side wrs heads and it's a great save by the qb...anyways i think that comes with time and more familiarity with the o...

i can tell he doesnt quite trust some things or understand where the holes are in some things vertical down the field he's very apt right now to off a hard play action look rush thru his progressions to his check down...basically jump from his first read presnap to his check down and get the ball out...personally i think that will come with time and reps where he will threaten the field more off play action vertically...what i will say though is a check down in that scenario is better than a hold the ball forever and let things die and take a bad sack as a result and so that clock in his head does seem to be telling him to get it out more...some times he has more time to let things develop but i chalk it up to needs more reps in the o than anything else...

all in all very happy with the qbs play in this one...well done ryan...bench this!!!

getting into the offense more liked how we played from under center in this one...run and passing game...have to change it up keep the defense guessing lazor really brought a great game plan in this one...so many more things still on the table also we could do...no limitations with this qb scheme wise...just start getting wallace in motion to the inside of the formation to get him off coverage...got charles clay involved also and some nice looks for him in space...

nice job by the tackles in pass pro...a couple miscommunication issues like albert not passing off the inside defender to garner and picking up the end on the move the pocket qb sack but one on one they played damn well...gave the qb plenty of time to get the ball off...i know the bears had like 4 sacks but if our pass pro plays like that every game i'm fine with it...nice lateral work in the run game from the tackles also...james even collapsed the line down inside on one big chunk yardage run...albert fueled the outside zone run wide td by miller with nice hard sideways movement in space

dion sims is one of the better blocking tight ends in football...i kid you not...

jarvis landry making the first guy miss and gaining rac...perfect for this offense...put his foot in the ground jab stepped redirected and got vertical...perfect...lays the wood as a blocker in space also...i mean he's horizontal on some hits...probably my favorite player on the team not named the qb...

liked lamar miller and daniel thomas work in this one...thomas since he has come back has been a different player...seems to be reading his blocks better and he's falling forward...the williams kid a little hesitation on outside zone i thought has to turn it up field...all in all though nice work by the backs...lamar miller is definitely improved overall...

on defense i love the package with mccain in the sub where he either blitzes or drops out in a soft zone in the middle and spies the qb and if the qb gets outside the tackles he is told to attack and close to the ball...love it...it's like a dion jordan package last year but with a udfa return value...coyle deserves an attaboy for that package and intuitive thinking...you have a click and close athlete who loves to play going forward let him take away the middle zone with his size and when the qb leaves his preferred launch point attack...

i destroyed finnegan for his work vs the packers and rightfully so he's was terrible he even admitted it himself but he bounced back in a big way vs a tough size matchup this week...maybe the neck was the issue all along...different player this week...couldnt ask for much more than that...

liked the jamar taylor over will davis nickle run on the boundary vs that opponent...you have to get physical with that wr core taylor gives you some of that and despite a few penalties he showed well...

i'm not sure where this team would be if not for jelani jenkins...he gets some serious tough assignments in the passing game and he never blows them...he may get beat at times they all do but he is as assignment sound as they come in that regard...this may be the most improved player on the roster...

koa misi was flying all over the place also loved it...very physical presence...nice to see them limit philip wheelers run...got him in some plays to his strengths opportunities limited the amount of possibilities for his awful awareness to show up...

the kicker i mean can we get some competition in the building??? he's a momentum changer in a bad way waiting to happen...50 yarder shanked way way wide...ok i guess...but a 37 yarder kicked too damn low thus it's blocked...that's rediculous...even on some of his extra points the ball comes off to low...i'm not a sturgis fan...at least he's kicking the ball deeper on kick offs now...still 37 yarders shouldn't be blocked like that if kicked with the proper trajectory...

on to jax ride this momentum and i expect to see a more consistent qb like the one we have seen of late in the 2nd half of the season...a difference maker...he's getting comfortable and our fortunes ride on that qb...

This week will give a real gauge as to the identity of this team. Last year we would beat a team like the Bears and come back and lose to the Jags. A great team will blow the Jags out this week. Although our D shouldn't look past them, they've got some playmakers.

Great Read, Hoops. Especially fun to read on good news. Agreed on 17 and Landry.

I thought Lazor's offense was excellent again. We are so lucky to have him as offensive coordinator.

I don't know why we couldn't block Jay Ratliff. Or was that the corpse of him as you would say?

I don't like the way Jamar Taylor invariably uses his hands downfield. The illegal contact down field was blatant. The PI was not catchable but he can't put himself into those positions.

Who did you see Jenkins on in coverage the most? Forte? I felt like we mostly had db's on Bennett but could be wrong.

Good catch on Sims' blocking. That was his reputation but I didn't see it last year. I will watch for that now. Nice tip.

The corners were amazing. Alshon Jeffrey with one catch? Are you serious?

Jags have a strong defense. Don't see us blowing them out but I do expect to win by double digits on account of their offense not being very good and they also turn the ball over quite a bit.

Statistically the Jags have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Not converting TDs in the red zone, not committing penalties that take points off the board, missing FGs and turnovers may slow the Dolphins down, not the Jags defense.

He put his big boy pants on for that Wallace TD! Held the safety by looking at Hartline and as soon as Wallace got the DB to turn his back he threw a perfectly place ball! That was a big time play.

I am not sure I agree with the change in offense hoops. We were moving the ball at will and it seemed like the change stalled us out for a bit. All and all we have to get more then 3 points on 2 short field turnovers. I have seen enough of Hartline! All we are doing there is throwing good money at a bad problem! I would like to see more of MAtthews and less Hartline

Dallas Thomas got blown up on that blocked kick. That is just as much of an issue for me.

Wasn't Dallas Thomas the one blown up into Tannehill knocking him down?

Another thing about Jelani Jenkins is he is very gap sound on running plays, he made a couple plays in the run game by just zapping to the hole to meet the RB.

If Miami had the Carolina stat tracker he'd average 11 tackles a game.

Also, IMO Reshad Jones is back, and he may be better than he was in 2012. Very strong coverage and always strong run support.

Anyone else notice the lack of big plays in the passing game given up, and Jimmy Wilsons lack of playing time?

Maybe I've only paid attention to their last 3 weeks when they've been getting close to beating a few teams like Pitt, Tennessee and finally got the win this week against Cleveland. A total of 39 points given up in those 3 games by the defense.

Well those 3 teams aren't a good barometer to how bad the Jags are IMO.

Tennessee is horrible, Cleveland had it's worst game this year and Hoyer was trash yesterday, I didn't watch the pitt game so can't comment.

Has a lot to do with having Jones back as well. Jimmy Wilson can blitz and isn't terrible in the slot, but at safety he is awful as he can't tackle. And with how Misi and Jenkins (and even Wheeler) are playing allows Jones to go back to his 2012 role rather than the 2013 role

After there first three games I believe they were giving up 38 PPG. Of course defenses can improve but I think the last three weeks are more of a reflection of subpar offenses.
