Hoops scoops...fins patriots

No. I don't think you're quite following me. If you flex him out then the Patriots have a decision to make. Walk the linebacker out there to cover him, or have a corner/safety cover him. If they walk the linebacker out, you can check to an inside run. If the linebacker stays inside, then you try to match him up against Clay or a running back or even Matthews in man or a pattern match zone/man. That's a win for the offense. But it doesn't happen if Egnew stays off the field or if he's left inside the box.

you made some nice observations/calls in that thread...i was surprised to see talib on mathews some in this one...i guess belichick decided what me and you thought would happen which would be the slot would get a lot of looks and decided at times to take it away...always shocks me though when i see a team get nosy with a safety on wallace side...they try to roll that opposite safety into single high late but tannehill is holding them with his eyes and head and sometimes when not a vertical beating them with his arm...like that td yesterday

Thomas s barely 5'9. He's good as a nickel player.

I have to always keep repeating this. Range is huge in a Free safety especially in our scheme. Clemons doesn't have good ball skills. But he has really good range and knows his assignments.
Yep Clemons is the Earl Thomas of our defense. He's obviously not the level of player that Thomas is, but he has the same impact when it comes to our usage of Reshad Jones (for the Seahawks it's Chancellor).

Do you still really hate Mr. Bean?

I'm STILL riding high from that win and I just watched it on TV, would be riding that for a month if was at the game in person (tried to make it happen but wife couldn't get off work). Plus San Diego winning and Cincy losing was just the icing on the cake. With that said:
