Well that sucked...these last 30 second gut punch tds are worse than than the thrill of victory that's for sure...

Theres not much to say today...Mia I got its ass kicked up front by their dline...I'm calling out mike pouncey for his play...what are we gonna do help you every time we face a legit dt??? Miami put you there to offset the rediculous dts and des in our division and we are helping you now like you are a weakness...step it up period

Losing is one thing losing our left tackle another...Miami can run these extra oline on the field sets to try and adjust garner for instance today and maybe it will work in a short week like tnf where teams don't have much time to adjust but that loss Of albert Imo was as big a potential season outlook changer as this team could have...it was mike wallace or tannehill or cam wake level...we cannot replace it...

My suggestion get billy turner some tackle reps in practice...jawUn James welcome to left tackle baptism by fire...Ryan tannehill the honey moon of cLean pockets on the outside is over...forget learning pocket play at your own pace it's baptism by fire now...

Biggest in game concern I saw today was the lions were shutting down our inside zone read option game without ever committing their de to it...they stayed at home on the qb and forced the ball to be handed off inside...suh wrecked us...it's a copy cat league short week I would bet money buffalo mirrors those same concepts Thursday night vs our read option...up to Lazor to adjust with the formations and play calling...

Int today absolutely on the qb but clay is out Hoskins is taking his place presnap read says quick pressure and go to Hoskins one on one quick against ihedibo who is stiff hipped and lacks long speed...ihedibo doesn't respect Hoskins ability to win vertically over the top sits on the pressure forcing ball out quick and squats on the route never even remotely threatened by Hoskins...if that's charles clay it doesn't go like that...ihedibo doesn't squat like that from the get go...

Must win thursday night no doubt about it...short week not much time to adjust expect the bills to be ready for the inside zone...we must adjust...losing our left tackle makes any form of adjustments this week massive...

Solid effort by the team overall...but I'm past the point of moral victories now...This team could sure use dion sims back but it won't happen on a short week...from a potential 7 point lead on a clay td that was knocked out late to a dagger in the back td with 30 seconds left and our stud left tackle out for the year...sob

This loss cut so much I wasnt much on individual player play but if you want my take on that just ask...

The loss to Detroit I can take, the loss of Albert just sends me spiraling into the negative zone for the remainder of the season. Our OL is why we were mediocre last year. And now that OL is dangerously close to returning.

To be honest, I'm disappointed that the line blew and probably will again, but I know the difference between 8-8 and 10-6 last year was as much a coach and a QB that couldn't turn enough good plays into wins was why we didn't get those extra two wins. Too many games like Carolina and Buffalo where wins were snatched right away. We've already had two this year, and I know from past experience this team isn't good enough to not have at least one more, and this is in games where we aren't just flat out-matched, which I am sure there will be at least a couple.

It just figures we would lose a player like Albert for the season. It never fails. It seems we lose someone who's essentially irreplaceable every season, so what else is new... We just aren't allowed to have nice things I guess.

Every team in the league goes through this. Good teams manage, bad teams don't.

The thing about losing your left tackle is when you have a weakness say on the interior getting exposed you can't help it as much cause you must help a tackle...and I know James and even Thomas showed pretty well in the half they played together but when teams gameplan to attack something like that and have time to prepare unless your tackle is legit it will be exposed...I don't care how much you try and help it there will be times you can't dictated by down and distance etc and it's either that player ****s or gets off the pot...we can't help a guard and a tackle both...someones got to nut up...my guess is they'll test James but they will go after the right tackle Thomas...it's possible though both come up ugly...James game is more left tackle suited IMO and man what a coo it will be if he can man that side but we need a better short area lateral athlete and foot athlete than Thomas...IMO the best foot and lateral athlete we have up front is billy turner...he played his entire college career at tackle....it won't happen in a short week but this thing is real close to dire circumstances get him some tackle practice reps...

Of course there's only one across the board legit front we face the rest of the way but that's Thursday freaking night and we still face plenty of edge rushers who can expose poor tackle play or poor communication...

Yeah the Bills D-line was already going to possess a challenge for us…but now with Albert out its really going to be tough. We cannot leave Dallas Thomas alone over there with Mario Williams or Tannehill will be on IR. We are going to see a lot of max protection, TE and RB chips, etc. Big challenge..

Hoops did you get a chance to look at Taylor's play and was it as bad as it looked real-time during the game. Unfortunately don't think Davis is the answer here either.

I like Taylors play more than most,..they went after him a couple times but it was all dictated by coverage being played...one was a screen game where he had no help basically beaten by the formation...Tate was as much on his face mask as he was on his on the personal foul call...Taylor's coming along...just like a qb corners need time and reps if they don't come out of the womb special...he had good talent and is physical...is learning...I'd stick with him vs physical cores and size...

I'm pretty sure that huge gain was a zone pass off to a defender inside who blew it for the like 28 yard gain to Tate..otherwise I have a hard time believing he would have been that far off...looked to me like a zone pass off...he didn't carry it like man...sort of trailed it from a distance...the way he played it it's either zone or he expects inside help...Imo

What other run options do you think we have? From what I understand we run a pretty basic zone rush offense primarily based on power blocking and one cut running. A lot of it comes from taking what the defense gives you but they don't give you anything (removing T-hill and clog the middle) what is there to be had?

I don't see much wiggle room in our run scheme unless we introduce such wrinkles as an inverted veer or some counter but I don't like T-hill running thru the inside gaps.

Hoos,
Any idea what they are doing with this running back rotation? Seems like when one guy is doing good he comes out of the game and the drive stalls. And with Williams playing well, why is Daniel Thomas still sniffing the field?

Wide stretch but I don't know that it's in the playbook...it should though with an athletic qb that can work off pa like tannehill can..you have to work off hard lateral movement and misdirection when you have an athletic but not power oline like ours...work angles...Have to work more from under center when the d doesn't have to commit the de to stop your read option and also you have to attack those looks in the passing game outside the numbers where the one on ones with no congestion are

Called sweeps are in the playbook but they require athletic move tackles and a high end move athlete center...

Looked to me like it was package specific more than anything...they wanted to give miller limited reps and they decided in certain package sets who would be the back...and they stuck with it...Williams was a bit too indecisive inside zone...you may try and make one guy miss but after that you make one cut and you get north and south...Thomas that fumble was a killer...big return and he fumbled the rock...that looks like points to me had we not turned it over but with sturgis who knows...

And yeah Shula you don't want your qb running the ball thru inside gaps...that's how you lose your qb...no way...every time he cuts up inside the slot and off tackle even I shudder...

Bottom line is Lazor has to adjust with the gameplan and formations and if he is gonna stick with the read option even when the inside zone is getting no where attack the field differently than working the congested middle of the field vs drop zone Lbs

Detroit had 2 weeks to prepare...they were ready for our bread and butter read option...they would have been ready for the bubble screens to

At this point i am thankful for James. I believe he will be OK at LT. Garner will likely get the call at RT with a short week with Dallas Thomas giving him rest.
Against Buffalo, this team better come out charged, or we are doomed.
Regarding Williams, it is apparent that he is more talented and instinctive. He has made some mistakes, but feed him the ball. Apart from Miller, he is our best best. I hope they use him more.
I agree about the copy cat league, and Buffalo will use this game to shut us down.
Our defense will have to carry this team if we are to win enough games to reach the playoffs.
This team is still a draft or two away from having a solid oline and answers on the bench.
Keep expectations low and it is easier to accept the growing pains.
