to recap our prior tape study we are 2 games in under a new offense and have 76+ and 16- grades on the qb…included in that minus category is 4 missed potential tds 3 turnovers all of which on the qb and 2 of the 5 sacks where I graded the qb contributed to them in some way…we have 7 drops all of the 15 plus yard variety including multiple potential tds 2 lack of effort drops so 9 total and we also have graded out 13 immediate pressures separate from the 5 sacks total thru 2 games…

WEEK 3 KANSAS CITY AT MIAMI

21-43 205 yards 1 td 0 int 4.8 ypa 4 sacks 70.3 rating…what does the tape say???

1[SUP]ST[/SUP] QUARTER

14:51 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 39 yard line shotgun 4 wr single back right of tannehill wr screen to Wallace 2 yards behind the los 7 yard gain all play call +1

13:51 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 3 0-0 score mia 46 yard line shotgun 4 wide trips to the left of the formation single wr hartline top side miller in motion from tannehills right side working down to the left flat as a dump off tannehill takes the snap head and shoulder fakes quickly to the flat side before pivoting back to the hartline working a quick slant and has won inside and balls placed spot on front shoulder for catch and 8 yard gain…the play is made because the qbs initial head and shoulder to the flat influences the inside box safety defender who showed a gap pressure inside pre snap before walking out late into a 2 lb box look to the trips side a tad freezing him and he cannot get back late to the slant route in time to jump it…text book…head and shoulder coverage influence and pivot to the target +1

12:44 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 7 0-0 score kc 42 yard line shotgun 3 wide with clay in line off the left tackle and miller makes a late shift from one side of tannehill to the other tannehill finishes his drop alvin bailey has beaten dallas thomas at right guard gaining the inside shoulder tannehill tries to climb forward like he should eludes bailey but in doing so walks right into justin houston eludes him but dontari poe cleans him up for a sack 3 yard loss…completely on the right guard getting smoked from the get go +1

7:48 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 20 yard line shotgun 4 wide 2 on each side all 4 tight to the formation single back to tannehills right wants the quick out to Wallace vs the off coverage created by the tight set ball is thrown over the outside shoulder properly and placed spot on Wallace puts one hand in the air for some reason only when he absolutely shouldn’t and he bobbles and drops it 8 yard gain off the table +1

7:43 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 20 yard line shotgun 4 wide miller in the backfield set to tannehills left carries out the ball fake to miller landry presses the db in the slot and wins inside on a slant working to space in the middle of the field with rac potential but drops it placed spot on +1

7:39 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 20 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back landry from the top side boundary motions across the formation late no one follows indicating zone to the qb the motion means a tight trips wr look at the snap...hartline working from the slot works a sit down in the hole of the zone 12 yard route ball is placed spot on and timed perfectly 15 yard gain +1

6:00 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 23 0-0 score mia 23 yard line shotgun 3 wide clay in line off right tackle single back to qbs right miller finishes his drop Wallace has a db bail out late pre snap on him I think tannehill sees this and tries to go back shoulder to Wallace given the over the top db coverage but the ball comes out errant and flutters….this is a tough grade my thoughts are the late bail by the db threw the qb off and he just threw it away…no harm no foul no negative grade here…qb and wr not on the same page the ball is thrown as if it’s a 16 yard back shoulder +1

5:54 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 23 0-0 score mia 23 yard line shotgun wr screen to landry d is ready for it 5 yard gain all play call +1

3:06 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 41 yard line shotgun 3 wr set tight to the formation single back to tannehills right Gibson goes in motion behind the qb and around to the other side for the swing pass db follows indicating man to man tannehill takes the snap kc works an inside stunt and colledge blows the pick up assignment and releases the dt right to the qb up the middle who dives at the qbs lower legs hitting him as he’s releasing the ball on what would be a shallow cross to hartline incomplete just off the wrs finger tips…this incompletion is all about a blown pick up and immediate pressure on the qb and not having time to let that crosser develop more +1

2:22 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 5 0-0 score mia 46 yard line kc shows inside blitz presnap tannehill in shotgun with miller and clay on each side of him 3 wr satele calls out a line adjustment call to slant down the line and pick up the interior free blitzer properly which will release the top side olb houston clean to the qb post snap…tannehill knows this and that the ball must come out quickly he works to the bottom side quick slant to hartline who has won inside of sean smith and the ball hits him in the hands and is dropped at the line to gain…classic example of why you’d want stronger hands and physical strength running that route on that play +1

2[SUP]nd[/SUP] QUARTER

12:21 1[SUP]ST[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 17 yard line play action fakes to the single back in the backfield clay motions inside the formation then back out db follows indicating man to man qb sells the action well rolls out to the short hash sets up feels pressure coming up that hash shuffles inside a few steps and hits Wallace in a 2 man route working tight down the seam clean release press the vertical then work the horizontal crosser at depth in space placed front shoulder for a 30 yard catch and run…nice route by Wallace sold the vertical well…text book across the board +1

11:42 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 0-0 score mia 47 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back to tannehills right hits wallace vs an 8 yards off man coverage on a stop route placed over the outside shoulder where wallace can turn and gain an additional 5 yards for a 15 yard gain timed spot on +1

10:40 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 5 0-0 score kc 33 yard line under center 2 tight end 2 wr single back sims off right tackle motions from off right tackle a yard off the los inside the formation then back outside the formation play action to the rb williams who then releases in the flat Miami is working a 2 wr heavy protect with hartline and gibson...the play prior wallace asked out after I’m sure ideally lazor would rather be running this with wallace on the field…hartline is in wallace spot runs the vertical clay releases off left tackle vertically looks like clear out routes for the crosser...dontari poe splits dallas Thomas who loses early and jawuan james trying to provide help on a combo block comes off an initial engagement to help but Thomas lost so quickly poe gained the shoulder and they are split immediately and he pressures tannehill who feels it and shuffles to his left to find space and goes to Gibson who was working a slot crosser at depth and hits Gibson in his hands leading him spot on and Gibson drops it…a 15 plus yard gain off the table +1

10:32 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 5 0-0 score kc 33 yardline shotgun 4 wide single back to tannehills left gibson motions from the boundary down into the top side slot at the snap no one follows declaring zone and kc plays a drop zone with 2 interior defenders sitting at the sticks…gibson runs a from inside motion shallow crosser tannehill hits him in space and is banking on him making the rally up lb miss and converting…it’s the play call based on the coverage and the progression…3 yard gain…tannehill did have the rb daniel thomas releasing to the flat late but there was a depth defender who would have made it close play for the conversion unless the qb just skipped the gibson progression by the defenses drop zone alignment…tough grade but with more time in the offense vs this defense look I think he may bypass this to the rb early and as such -1 I will say this though for a first year in this offense qb what he did is exactly what just about any first year in a new offense one would there…the coverage says take that shallow crosser as does the progression…next play missed 48 yard fg by Sturgis

6:32 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 7-0 score mia 25 yard line shotgun 2 wr top side clay in line off left tackle single back play fake to the back lbs come forward then drop out into a middle zone clay works a hash mark depth crosser tannehill has him dontari poe comes across from the left side of the formation late and jumps in the air and gets a hand on it incomplete…athletic play by a nose tackle really nothing more but given the hard grade scale -1

5:20 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 9 7-0 score mia 41 yard line under center I form 3 wide clay lined up as a lead fullback play action the back miller 7 step drop...this is a take a vertical shot attempt tannehill finishes his drop sets up and stays in just a hair too long before trying to break out vs wide pressure from tamba hali who sacks him and swipes the ball out in the process…here’s the truth on this…tannehill sets up and he feels that backside pressure late but he can’t step up cause dallas thomas has been walked back into his escape route by dontari poe and himmed him in and when he does try and break out when It clears for him hali swipes at the ball and sacks him forced fumble recovered by the qb…this ones on the qb for staying in too long and not breaking out or getting rid of it but dallas thomas being walked back into his climb the pocket area plays a definite role…grade though -1

4:35 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 17 7-0 score mia 38 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back to tannehills left gibson in motion across the formation from top side immediate wide pressure from olb ford over jawaun james speeds up tannehills drop he shuffles forward to find space to release and ford gets a hand on his throwing arm short of taking off with the ball vs that zone coverage on the step forward and notgetting anywhere near the sticks there was nothing he could do…outside speed rush beat james to the spot +1

1:30 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score mia 22 yard line shotgun 3 wide trips single back to tannehills right 2 minute offense jawuan james covered up by charles clay james gets beaten badly round the corner by justin houston tannehill finishes his drop immediately tries to climb forward cannot as he’s getting hit and slung to ground by houston he hits the single back miller who sat down in the middle of the field in front of the coverage as a dump off…hard to believe he got that off with that kind of accuracy miller turns and gains rac for a 15 yard gain…qb had absolutely no chance…sack off the board by the qb…terrific play +1

1:22 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score mia 37 yard line shotgun 4 wide including miller lined up off the los in the slot bottom side 2 minute offense hits miller working a out route to the boundary ball roped over the outstretched arms of the coverage qb and to front shoulder for 5 yard gain…risky throw given the coverage but he rifled it in there with perfect placement and velocity +1

1:18 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 5 14-0 score mia 42 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back 2 minute offense head in the center of the field in his drop pivots to the the bottom side boundary Wallace working a stop route vs 10 yards off coverage fires a rope for a 10 yard gain +1

1:14 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score 50 yard line shotgun 3wide single back 2 minute offense wide 9 rush look from the bottom side olb houston over jawuan james tannehill takes the snap head in the middle of the field in his drop and short steps his drop due to wide pressure from houston off the edge climbs forward hits landry just as alberts man who albert whiffed on hali and released clean to the qb as in never even got a hand on him hits him…landry working a shallow cross turns up the field vs zone for a 16 yard gain…great play by the qb verse that immediate wide pressure from both sides…text book +1

:50 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score kc 39 yard line shotgun single back 3 wide 2 minute offense sells the quick out to the top side receiver options with his head and eyes comes back to the play call screen to the back backside daniel thomas who gets a good space cut block from dallas thomas on a db who gave himself up on the play frankly which springs him into the second level for a 26 yard gain but the clock is steadily running still +1

:25 second range 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score kc 13 yardline RZ no huddle shotgun spends 5 seconds having to get daniel thomas lined up properly who set up to the wrong side of the qb and who if I recall correctly had just shown up that week…still 5 seconds scraped off the clock is another play we don’t get to try and score…4 wide with clay off the los as the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] single back clock ticking 18 seconds clay works a out and up but the db stays at depth and faces the play the entire way qb cannot once he sees that db at that depth stay on that he must go to a different progression he locked onto it and if he throws it catchable it’s a contested ball with a tight end that doesn’t really play 50/50 balls in the air…qb grade for staying on the progression and not coming off it and scraping time in the process -1

:12 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 10 14-0 score kc 13 yard line RZ shotgun flanked by clay on one side and thomas on the other 3 wide top side 2 wr stack set takes off with the ball gains 9 yards is down at the 7 second mark takes a good shot on the hit and gets up a little dazed meanwhile the clock runs and Miami sits on its final timeout…bottom line here is there’s no way that clock should run on that play down to 2 seconds if the hc is standing right next to the line judge on the play and signals the timeout the second he hits the ground…it’s ridiculous really…wake up joe philbin…it’s the difference between one more throw in the end zone from the 4 yard line with 7 seconds on the clock and a fg with 2 seconds left…infuriating that anyone could be that incompetent at the professional level…qb grade though +1

3[SUP]rd[/SUP] QUARTER

12:55 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and goal 14-3 score kc 4 yard line RZ shotgun 4 wide stacked sets on each side single back to tannehills right wants clay bottom side first working a quick slant he’s jammed slightly and engaged but there’s a lb houston who stays at the los at the snap and is sitting in that hole he comes off it and rolls to his right laterally to the other part of that bottom side stack thed elayed play broke down fade to the back corner hand fighting with the db wallace the entire way and throws it over his head…coverage is too tight there no issue with the throw +1

12:13 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and goal 14-3 score kc 1 yard line playfake to the back rolls out to his right and goes to his second progression the slot crosser hartline at the back of the end zone for a TD…the primary is clay in motion presnap to declare coverage then working back across the formation to the front pylon…the man responsible for him gets caught inside in traffic trying to come across as dion sims in line comes off the line of scrimmage and blocks and sets a as drawn up inside push the defender across from him back and impede the clay coverage responsibility trying to work thru traffic so he can’t release free to clay in the flat but the olb Houston makes a nice sight adjustment and picks up clay in the flat and tannehill quickly goes to the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]progression hartline for the TD +1

6:26 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 21-10 score kc 33 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back to tannehills right Wallace goes in motion from a top the formation to the bottom side and sets up db comes out to meet him indicating man coverage and postions himself 10 yards off…tannehill takes the snap head in the center of the field in his drop back foot hits pivots to the 16 yard stop route to Wallace bottom side vs the off coverage ball tipped at the los by olb houston incomplete…if the qb had not kept his head centered in his drop and gave away his intentions I would downgrade him here but he did it exactly like he should olb just got a hand on it jumping in the air from depth +1

6:03 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 10 21-10 score kc 33 yard line shotgun 4 wide single back lined up in front of tannehill to pick up the inside lb blitzer in the a gap…tannehill takes the snap takes his drop head in the middle of the field and pivots to Wallace working a stop route at the sticks vs off man coverage balls tightly contested and incomplete…he read it wrong he has clay inside of wallace sitting down in space at the sticks for an easy conversion if thrown to the outside shoulder but went to the primary progression and the ball and coverage was tight when he should have gone to the secondary -1

4:12 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 21-13 score mia 34 yard line shotgun single back to qbs left 3 wide fakes to hartline on the wr screen pivots back around to the play call a screen to the rb lamar miller…dallas thomas stays a hair too long on the dt and doesn’t get to the lb responsible for miller and the play goes for an 8 yard loss all play call and poor execution but not by the qb +1

3:36 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 18 21-13 score mia 26 yard line shotgun 4 wide 2 receivers on each side of the formation tannehill takes the snap finishes his drop and steps forward nicely before hitting mike Wallace working a depth out vs drop zone coverage for a 14 yard gain timed spot on and placed there as well +1

3:03 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 2 21-13 score mia 40 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back to tannehills right vs single high 10 defenders within 4 yards of the los landry works a arrow route and across the defenders face off of pre snap motion but the db makes a really nice play to reach around from a trail position and get a hand on a ball placed spot on to the front shoulder and incomplete…tannehill has hartline coming open late on a shallow cross but that’s further down the progression this is just a great play by thedefender +1

1:21 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 5 21-15 score kc 47 yard line under center 4 wide tight stacked trips formation top side single back in the backfield sims goes from the stack into the backfield in a lead fullback look prior to the snap tannehill rises and fires a quick slant at the sticks on the single wr side that goes right thru his hands incomplete +1

1:15 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 5 21-15 score kc 47 yard line shotgun single back to qbs left 3 wide with clay in line off right tackle finisheshis drop dallas thomas on a combination initial engage and pass off block and pick up the blitz lb blows it and is beaten and as the lb goes by he pushes him in the back right into tannehill in his motion throwing arm and the shallow cross to hartline flutters and hartline and the db make contact and hartlines elbow is injured…blown pick up by the right guard in a zone blitz pass off +1

4[SUP]TH[/SUP] QUARTER

12:44 1[SUP]ST[/SUP] and 10 21-15 score mia 33 yard line shotgun single back 3 wide with sims off left tackle a yard off the ball qb takes the snap gets into his drop has to speed it up and come forward immediately as the right tackle has been beaten by an inside direct back outside rush move from justin houston and tannehill tries to elude it and is sacked at the los…protection all the way cannot even finish his drop +1

11:31 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 3 21-15 score mia 40 yard line shotgun qb flanked on each side by landry and lamar miller 3 wide takes the snap begins his drop miller picks up the inside blitzer lb cuts him down tannehill correctly goes to landry working an out route at the sticks from the backfield ball placed out front landry dives and makes the catch and a conversion…throws a little errant but the wr made a play for the qb +1

10:21 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 1 21-15 score kc 47 yard line shotgun single back to tannehills right 3 wide single high defense 9 men on the los one 3 yards off and a deep safety…Miami wants to take a shot and coverage and down and distance say to do so…stunt from the dline satele blows the pickup releasing one dt clean colledge at left guard gets beaten also from the get go releasing another tannehill bails out to the top side boundary and takes a deep shot when he has space in front of him to maybe run for the conversion or can hit the crosser gibson running past the sticks directly in front of him…ball is thrown deep out of bounds to wallace way out of bounds…the pressure messes things up here but the qb had multiple chances to make a play and convert and didn’t bottom line…I will say one thing more though…wallace is working a stutter and go double move and he doesn’t give the qb the space he is supposed to cause the stem of the route prior to the stutter is angling in to the boundary too much…he needs to work that down the boundary maintaining 3-4 yards distance inside of it so when he does stutter and go he still has the entire sideline to work with…he’s ineligible anyways as a result of a poor route where he steps out coming out of the stutter on the boundary...classic example of a deep shot opportunity vs the coverage looks we want shot by blown interior protection….if he’s able to stay in the pocket and he doesn’t like that wallace deep shot he no doubt hits that gibson crosser for the conversion… still qb grade -1

10:12 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 1 21-15 score kc 47 yard line under center I form 2 wr carries out the play action take to the rb finishes his 7 step drop indicating another vertical shot attempt…both wrs working vertical crossers but rerouted and having trouble getting depth in their routes climbs forward hitching multiple times looking to the primary Wallace covered looks to the secondary Mathews covered in climbing forward 2 stay at home dbs converge on him and take him down for a sack…had the 3rd and 4th options on the play sims and the back thomas leaking out to the flat past and at the sticks for the conversion needed to come off the depth routes sooner and go to the dump offs…this is a learning experience play but a big one in the game for sure -1

4:32 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 15 yard line shotgun single back 4 wide back motions out to the boundary and sets up making it an empty set hits clay working a sit in the hole stop route 8 yard gain +1

4:09 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 2 27-15 score mia 23 yard line shotgun 4 wr single back hurry up offense hits clay on a 6 yard out route from the slot vs drop boundary zone coverage +1

4:05 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 29 yard line shotgun 4 wide trips bottom side single back goes to gibson running a depth out route from the trips side in between zone defenders off his finger tips ball slightly out in front nothing wrong with that +1

3:59 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 29 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back clay in line off left tackle throws a really nice over the drop out safety late out route in front of the corner and over the safety timed spot on…pretty throw right there 13 yard gain +1

3:37 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 42 yard line shotgun 4 wide single back pressing looked at his target in the end of his drop even and tries to hit a stop route to landry on the boundary but an under zone defender reading the qbs eyes who lacked discipline on the play drops out and over and gets in the air and gets a hand on it…this is what I’m talking about when I say eye discipline…he’s pressing and he lost it and he throws a ball a under zone defender reading his eyes almost gets to -1

3:33 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 42 yard line shotgun 3 wide single back finishes his drop leaves a clean pocket to his right and fires across his body to landry working a depth delayed crosser for a 12 yardgain…nice play on the throw but it’s called back due to holding on satele still it gets a grade +1

3:23 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 20 27-15 score mia 32 yard line shotgun 4 wide single back finishes his drop climbs forward nicely and runs up to the los before letting go a deep ball down the middle with an under zone waiting for him had he kept it and ran with it…overthrows landry who is not open…looks like a throw away no issue with it +1

3:16 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 20 27-15 score mia 32 yard line shotgun 4 wide single back holds the ball too long before while taking multiple players contact throwing the ball out of bounds when he should bypass progressions and go to the dump off rb in the flat who is open early…no lost yardage but nota good play either…staying on progressions too long at this point work to the dump off which is open it seems almost all the time in this offense -1

3:09 4[SUP]th[/SUP] and 20 27-15 score mia 32 yard line shotgun 3 wrs clay in line off left tackle going down the field with it but ball is batted down by dt bailey who gets a hand in the air engaged with colledge and knocks it down…have to find space for that throw -1

2:52 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 10 27-15 score mia 28 yard line shotgun 3 wide clay a yard off the left tackle throws a post route to wallace open in the hole of 5 zone defenders nice read nice decision but balls too high and incomplete…has to throw it over the depth drop lb and he does but in doing so it’s just a little too high and out in front for wallace…rac potential there if he can run thru the catch…holding called on the play also on james so would have been for nothing but still needs a grade -1

2:48 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 20 27-15 score mia 18 yard line shotgun screen to clay 7 yard gain all play call +1

2:28 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 13 27-15 score mia 25 yard line shotgun 4 wide drop out zone coverage goes to the rb out of the backfield miller sitting down in front of the drop zone 12 yard gain +1

2:10 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 1 27-15 score mia 38 yard line shotgun 4 wide short out route to dion sims it’s open past the sticks ball is thrown too far outside -1

FINAL SCORE KANSAS CITY 34 MIAMI 15

GAME SUMMARY

38+ grades 12- grades…included in that are 5 drops 4 sacks 2 completely on the protection and 2 I thought the qb contributed to and 6 immediate pressures separate from the sacks total…it should be noted not every play means as much as another in the grand scheme of things but this is a play by play grade so you can pay attention to the downs and distances and time frames in the game to help determine what’s more meaningful than others from a win/loss perspective …but when the qb coach and staff break down tape they don’t just grade certain plays they grade them all and that’s what I’m doing as well…

NEXT EDITION MIAMI AT OAKLAND

wow...these don't seem to be drawing much interest or discussion...we didnt even get to the juicy stuff  maybe it's best that i do these after each game during the season that way it's more fresh and the boards not in end of season detox mode...lesson learned

we'll call em off

Appreciate the work hoops. Personally I thought Ryan's play was meh until the London game so i've been waiting for that one to start commenting.
Probably due to the way the season ended most are ready to just turn the page on 2014.

You specifically asked for football discussion and not blatant trolls, so that's probably why there aren't as many replies as usual in a QB related thread.

This game really pissed me off. Though the one thing I remember thinking about it after re-watching the game after a few days was that Tannehill's play wasn't nearly as bad as what it was perceived to be. Now I say this before reading your breakdown and it will be interesting to see what the tale of the tape actually tells.

Thanks again, Hooshoops.

I like these hoops. I think there may be more interest and commenting if you included a gif for each play you disect but I understand that would be a ton of additional work

for this game alone that would be 50...if someones willing to do it i'm game but the tape break down alone written takes me about 5 hours per game...be much easier if i could put it on a like podcast  then i could explain each play even more and what i'm looking for etc and what i see...trying to do that here makes these things way wordy

i could easily do it though as far as the actual verbal break downs

right now it's kinda depending on you to either have kept the game broadcast or to have some form of it that way if you watch it relative to what i've put together you can see how it adds up and also understand how the qb disects coverages and i do also and what he sees etc and what's expected

...The amount of shotgun we have run in the past two weeks is astounding.

...The amount of shotgun we have run in the past two weeks is astounding.

all about the protection concerns...and for good reason...the guard play in pass pro the first 3 weeks was horrendous...especially shelley smith and dallas thomas...colledges rough play issues come later...we need billy turner to ball out in 2015

How about doing a YouTube video where you talk over the plays? You could even break it out by quarter to make it easier for you. You would also get a much bigger audience.

I personally love reading these. I did expect more neg grades in these first 3 weeks.. But it wasnt the ammount of bad plays it was how bad they actually were... The ugly pic vs buffalo deserves a -5. I am looking forward to seeing the oak chi and sd games though

the pick against buffalo was a garbage time throw away more than anything else...the db undercut the route cause he had help over the top with like 20 seconds left...those end of game blow out scenarios are prime time for a mistake from the qb cause they try and force things they normally wouldn't...

they start pressing...lose the eye and head discipline and stare at targets in their drop even sometimes...and also the rush is usually ears pinned and all over your qb cause they dont have to play run contain or honest...

tannehills head and eye discipline is very good...very rarely do you see him lose it...that's why he doesnt throw many picks...that and his pre snap reads are very solid

you rarely can jump things reading the qbs eyes...very disciplined
